Henry
As I sit home and watch all this snow fall in my front yard, cant help but think about next year. Presently have the Callaway Hot fairway woods. Like them but for the large heads. Previously had the steelhead plus which I liked very much. Looking for a smaller head fairway woods that have a similair performance than my Callaway Hot in terms of easy to hit but still able to work the ball. I play to an 8 handicap. Suggestions are welcomed.
gocchin
There are so many amazing FW's out there.... on the compact size there's the RC Pro TP and Epon FW as well as the new V Steel. On the mid size with a balance of forgiveness and workability are the X-Drive GR, ViQ, PRGR M3 Hit Tour, Yamaha iFF, ONOFF Fairway Arms, and on the larger side, the can't miss cause it's so big side you've got the RC Star FD, PRGR Original M3 Hit, Japan Burner Ti. If you're looking at smaller, I'd give the PRGR M3 Hit Tour a shot, easy to hit and workable, square to fade biased... great feel as several owners here can a test too. Henry
Any thoughts on the Srixon Z-Steel. How is the size of head compared to others?
+TourSpecGolfer
If you like a deep forged face nothing beats the EPON AF-201 If you want a shallow face FW the PRGR Tour M3 is amazing.
Henry
love the looks of thr PRGR but I go with the 4 and 7 woods and it looks like they do not offer a 4 wood.
dkats
love the looks of thr PRGR but I go with the 4 and 7 woods and it looks like they do not offer a 4 wood. The PRGR 3 wood is 15 deg and 42.5". So it is not too far off from a 4 wood spec wise and it's very easy to elevate. If you like the looks, I would highly recommend it. Henry
Anyone have the RC Pro TP woods? Looks like a lot of custom shaft options. Comments on them?

Henry
The PRGR M3 Hit looks great. The web site indicates this model is 2 degrees flatter and also has a fade bias. Can anyone advise me what that means? Since I am not that tall, a 2 degree flatter lie angle probably would benefit me but I like to draw the ball so I am not sure if a club having a fade bias would help me out. I have not noticed any fade bias with my M3 Hit. It really wants to go straight. I can draw or fade it, but mostly just point and shoot. Droopy
Actually, I need a new 3 wood too! I'm very interested in the Epon AF-201. TourSpecGolfer, I noticed that you are using the stock Mach Line shaft in Stiff 75g. How is this combo for you? Specific reasons for NOT upgrading the shaft? The reason I ask is because 10 years ago, I had a Callaway driver that was very long with the stock shaft. I upgraded and it turned into a POS...the shaft definitely did not fit me! I know the stock Mach Line is a pretty good shaft though. Also, PRGR Hit users, why would you recommend the PRGR over the Epon (hypothetically)? Henry
can anyone advise me what type of stock shaft is used for the PRGR M3 Hit? The PRGR Website does not give any information on shaft specs other that its available in r, sr or s. Can you get custom shafts?
