ThanksGod Bless B The ones with the blank spot in the middle of the face have a higher COR than .083 or in plain english are non conforming.
December 29, 200717 yr comment_146203 Actually Jack, that's not always the case. Both Epons do not have score lines going all the way across and they are indeed conforming as are several other drivers with smooth centers. I've always wondered about the design aspect vs the performance aspect of score lines on drivers as well and I believe that manufacturers to play with the lines for performance reasons. Score lines can effect spin and feel. My thinking used to be that no score lines would reduce spin however the X-Drive which does have score lines is pretty low spinning so that theory is not so accurate. (^_^)
December 30, 200717 yr comment_146254 I don't know if this holds true for the drivers that you are looking at, but I remember that the SMT 455 had no score lines and the explaination on their website was that the score lines weakened the face.
December 30, 200717 yr comment_146270 Ya. I have a SMT 455 with a Fujikura Speeder. I've tried probably 15 driver, shaft combos and the 455/fujikura is without a doubt, the furthest hitting driver i've ever hit. Not the easiest to control, but incredible distance.
