K2_2
Well, I tried the new Axiv-X (5068), and while it is a nice shaft, it didn't peform much better than average for me (compared it to a stock TFC??? in a Ping Rapture). The Axiv V was better at taking the left out of play, and the orginal Axiv and Roddios seem to kick quite a bit more. Does anyone have a recomendaiton for a new shaft that would have a similar flex and weight (around 60 grams) with a bit more kick?
gocchin
K, I thought you were a Quattro Tech man? Did you have that Axiv-X in a Rapture?
bogeydog
I would try the Quattro Tech MD 5 that I have for sale! In all seriousness, that would be my next try if you are a Quattro man. 55g and stiff flex. Blader-X
The new Quattro Tech MD is the shaft I was thinking as well. Combining the awesome power and kick of the PT series with all the tightness of the QT, I really think that's the way to go. Not to mention I'm partial to Graphite Design Tour AD as it is. Very high quality shafts, you just can't go wrong with them. I would've gone that route myself, but the P9003x has been haunting me for some time and I'm having one installed in the 3 wood as we speak. Having said that though, I really would anticipate the new MD to be a real winner.
K2_2
Hi guys, thanks for the advice! T I was playing the 2007/Green Quattro, but when I put that into something other than a lower spin X-Drive, my trajectory control isn't as good. If I was playing more I wouldn't be looking to swap things around, but the X-Drive isn't that much fun without a bit of practice now and then. As for the Rapture, yes, one of the local guys here had one shafted up with the new Axiv. I guess I'll have to read up on the MD now . Cheers. chinkwan
I am super fan of Tour ADs too.. Currently using W70 and UT85 and QT65.. I also have AXIV 6064M.. I do think the AXIV do kick quite a bit more then any of the TourADs I own but dispersion is tighter on the TourADs. Am I right to assume reg. AXIV has the most kick over AXIV-V and AXIV-X?? What's the difference anyways and how come so many AXIV to choose from and relatively less for V/X??? How are the new QT MDs differ from the green 2207 QTs??? The new MD's differ in terms of the kickpoints. The old QT's had a low kickpoint whereas the new MD's incorporate the mid kickpoints of the old PT series into the design features of the QT model. So what you end up with is the quad-weave pattern of the QuattroTech with a higher kickpoint that what was originally offered. You know another shaft which hasn't really come to market is the TSG prototypes that a few of us here were fortunate enough to demo. I know I still have the one in my driver and its my favorite shaft by far. I'm really still enjoying it very much. Maybe Chris can shed some light on to why it hasn't come out or if there are plans for it in the future. Chris, it really is an awesome shaft, any chance of us seeing it more? Spoon
I am super fan of Tour ADs too.. Currently using W70 and UT85 and QT65.. we are the same. ive tried most of the shafts and what is my favorite by far is the tour ad line. have them in my wedges, irons, woods and eventually the qt md in my driver. ive tried the QT greena nd also the pt series. pt series is by far my favorite but this could change with the qt md series. sounds like it would be the perfect shaft for my driver. loved the Qt but found the lower kp a turnoff for me. hopefully they will continue to work on the tour ad line and come out with even more varieties of shafts to please all of us hard to please golfers:)
