Posted January 30, 200817 yr comment_147140 Seems like to the trend for many companies is to offer tour like wedge grinds, and simple grinds no longer cut it for consumers who want the best. It's not on the RC site yet so info is limited but Royal Collection has announced their new DB WS Wedge aimed at spin and accuracy. With a versatile grind taking into account that not all shots are going to be from the fairway, this sole is designed to work out of the rough and bunkers with maximum spin and accuracy. The DB line is soft iron cast and features a double bounce in the sole ie 58/12/08 due to the versatile dual grind... the face is milled and the wedge is finished in a black "QPQ" finish or no make satin kind of finish. Available in 48, 52, 53, 56, and 58* lofts and DG S200 or X100 or NS Pro 950GH R or S. Bounce numbers not available yet. Coming out mid February. MSRP is around 189.00

Can't wait to try these against the 208KGX (although Spoon's pictures of the 208KGX shredding golf ball covers are turning me off a little). I hope these perform as well as the 6150TG. Bat

I hope these perform as well as the 6150TG.Bat bat, dont get turned off they are absolutely worth it. most of the wedges now tend to do that but they will loose there sharpness after a couple of times of range use. i tend to put all my wedges thru hours of range use to dull them a bit. after this they tend to not shred balls but are still sharp enough to stop the ball on a dime
February 21, 200816 yr comment_147628 Yeah, I hit a few balls into the net with the 208KGX a couple of days ago. Sets up very nice and didn't tear up the ball as much as I was afraid (I only hit the satin finish). I'm still waiting to hear more on this new Royal Collection DB WS wedge though. Are these out yet? I may have to stick with Callaway and get their X-Forged wedges unless I get to try these real soon. Bat
February 21, 200816 yr comment_147637 IMO the 208KGX wedges are the best made and designed wedges ever. Set up to them softly with one hand and see where the first score line points to compared to other wedges. Its such a perfectly balanced and designed wedge that bending it anything more than 1* up or down effects the heel performance for the negative with out a grind adjustment. Besides the style of the grind there are many things that the normal golfer doesn't realize about wedges. How they should sit, where the leading score line should face and in what position and not to mention what to look for in the neck area that determines the quality of how the wedge went through the cooling process.
