Nippon Super Peening Shaft vs. 1150

Anybody with experience with these shafts? I am looking at orange or blue, heavier shafts.

I wonder how they are comparable to 1150 shaft.

I would appreciate any input on this.

Thanks!

I would be interested in hearing some comparisons between the super peenings versus the 1150's also.

Any reason the super peenings aren't listed in the proshop? May be interested in picking up a set just to try.

I play 1150 S with TS X Blade CB and X on Z101...and tried a Srixon Pro 100 #7 on Super Penning RED S just for pre-installation test.

Despite the specification differences, both share pretty much the same stiffness, but 1150 S on Z101 #7 is more flex while Super Peening Red S on #7 has slight stiffness...In a visual term, 1150 bends from the kick point and Red tend to be bowed within the whole shaft...However, 1150X is a whole different deal.

In my opinion, both are good shaft to invest, just need to try and see which one fits your swing and need...

Hope this will help.

I had the 1050's on my epon type j's and replaced them with super peening blue's. For me, the blue's are a lot better because i'm a very high ball hitter and they bring the trajectory down noticeably! Both are very smooth, the blue's obviously being stiffer and heavier. If you're a harder swinger with high trajectory i'd recommend the peening blue's for sure. any other questions just ask.

That sounds good to me. My driver swing speed is around 105-115... average about 110 on the launch monitor. Just worried the super peening might be too much shaft for me in my irons. I also hit the ball quite high and would like to bring the trajectory down a bit... so I guess the super peening would be a better fit for me. Any suggestion on whether I should go with Stiff or X Stiff? Thanks for the reply :)

Mine are X-stiff. They're stiff but they feel fine. Just suited for a strong(ish) swinger. If your driver speed is 110/115 i'm sure they'd be fine for you. If you're worried perhaps see if you get them, what's it called.....hard stepped or something? A go between stiff and X-stiff.

They definitely bring the trajectory down more than any shaft i've tried.

Cool, thanks for the info... do you have any experience with the TT Black Golds? Was looking at those and the Nippons...

Yep. I have those in my set of fusions. Really nice shafts. Also have Tour Concepts. I like both of them a lot. Neither of them bring the ball flight down however.
