  1. Anyone know what he had in the bag today?
  2. It will be interesting to see which ONOFF clubs he puts in the bag.
  3. Randy, Thanks for taking the pictures and sharing your thoughts, very much appreciated! I guess the 09 OnOff+ didn't make the cut? T
  4. G, What's the shaft bible state about the GD Pros and the Diamana Thump? Thanks, T
  5. Exactly the information I was looking for....Many Thanks!
  6. Which has the stiffer tip....GD Tour AD 95 or Fujikura 9E05? Anyone have any comparisons, pro's/con's of each?
  7. I understand that a rising yen erodes Japanese exporters’ overseas earnings and makes their exports more expensive. All your information makes perfect financial sense. I'm no financial expert/economist, but rising prices (if my mind) can further fuel a downward spiral in demand which will lead to a further decrease in earnings potential. I guess we have financial experts and worst, politicians across the Globe attempting to provide solutions. I have very little confidence in the politicians though....maybe some of the brillant financial minds around the globe can provide some ideas that can be implemented. Enough of this....back to golf! Can you get me a deal on a set of Epon irons?
  8. Understand completely that it would be a labor intensive. I believe most manfacturers would have pdf files of their shaft options/prices. (Yamaha has posted such info.) That shoud be fairly easy to accomplish. The other stuff...finishes, names on hosels, paintfills, etc. are to me, very much "one off's".
  9. Yes, I understand the impact of fluctuating currency exhange rates. Since you and Epon deal in yen, then there has been NO change in your wholesale/contract prices from EPON? The proshop prices are based solely on exchange rates?
  10. As viewing the telecast today, I found myself paying attention to the eqiupment the amateurs had it the bag. What was a surprise somewhat was the lack of graphite iron shafts. Unless they are using extremely light weight steel shafts, I think many could've benefitted with the graphite option. Based upon some of the swings, many glancing blows and lack of head speed/lack of distance, especially on some short Par 3's where hybrids/high lofted fairway's were the choice. Just seemed a bit odd....and ill fit!
  11. With "A ton of new Epon products expected around late October 2009" Why the $100 + price increase in the current iron line up? Because they can based on current supply/demand? Trying to squezze as much $ they can with the in-line models during the spring/summer selling season? If I was looking at Epon irons, based upon the fact they are raising their prices with in-line models, I would be inclined to wait to see what the late October 09 offerings are! Unless Epon is experiencing a very high demand, much higher that forecast....I don't see the reasons for the $ increases in a stagnant economony with a prodouct that may be nearing the end out it's lifesytle.
  12. Digging up an older thread....but does anyone have some experience with the Thump yet? As always, any insights/information is appreciated!
  13. Regarding 15 v 16 grooves....are the grooves spaced tighter on the Fourteen?
  14. I actually change wedges/lofts depending on time of year. Normal setup: PW = 45 AW = 50 SW = 55 LW = 60 In harder summer conditions: PW = 45 AW = 52 SW/LW = 60 X/LW = 64 "Maybe" some gaps with the "summer" lofts, but with the harder conditions....seems to work for me.
  15. Thanks for taking the time to scan and post! Trying to figure out all the data is making my head spin a bit. Love the pictures of the clubs in the playing position....that is the big take-away for me!
  16. Yes, aesthetics do matter, but it is one of many factors I consider when choosing a club. Also, the "garish graphics" are not exclusive to the USDM, there are many examples of JDM equipment that would fit that description. It is always good to remember that those of us that frequent internet golf forums are a very small percentage of the consumers. I would guess that OEM's spend millions on market research coming up with their ideas for the graphics, colors, etc. I would also guess their decisions are based on ways to distinquish themselves in the marketplace and to highlight their percieved technology differences. I personally like a "clean" look, but I realize I am (like many of you) a very, very small part of the targeted consumer base. I'm sure I've bypassed many products that "may" have helped my game because of aesthetics. If I have the opportunity to demo a product that is not aesthetically pleasing, I can overlook those aesthetics if the club performs and feels good....the problem is getting me to even try it. This is where the OEM marketing machines need to convince me that there is some sort of a performance gain through their technology.
  17. It appears that you now have the 2009 Yamaha driver and irons.....you have to add the fairway woods!!! The 2008 Yamaha i.f.f. Tour model fairway wood was the best fairway wood I hit!
  18. Sorry...not my clubs! Picture found on the web. Here are some top line pictures of the Miura's....posted on a blog. 5 iron 7 iron 9 iron
  19. Thanks for taking the time for some pictures! Any shots of the iron in the playing position?
  20. Thought this may be of interest. AF Tour (top)
  21. Thought this may be of interest. New Fourteen J-Spec II (Forged)
  22. Is the Peening Series from Nippon available as a shaft upgrade through EPON? Thinking of giving the blue a trial, anyone match up something from the Peening line with any of the Epon heads?
