golf 37
Have any of you golf guru's had any first hand experience of the Vega DAF driver and if so what are your impressions of it. I have been a big Vega fan and the Vega's irons are very good, especially their 50th Anniversary blades but the driver and fairway woods I have used lets them down badly. The woods are not forged in Japan and I would not describe them as high quality. The driver is the same design as the Masker driver which you can pick up on eBay for approx £70.00. The only thing Vega has done is put in very good shaft offerings.
+TourSpecGolfer
I would agree that they do not make very good woods. The main point on their DAF driver is the aerodynamic attributes but lets be honest here, hitting dead center is most important. For the player wind drag isnt really a concern while forgiveness and distance would rank higher for just about anyone. Decreased drag is supposed to increase club head speed thus creating more distance but reviews on this club show little of the sort.
Up'nDown
Thanks for your input gents. I'm in the market for a new driver for the new year as my TM is starting to look a bit battered and bruised. I'm normally pretty straight of the tee and on average hitting around 280yds which I'm more then happy with and my short game is improving now that the crazy amount of spin generated by my Yururi wedges is starting to settle down a bit. I'm off for a couple of rounds this weekend and have managed to smuggle a friends J Spec Versus RCR X proto driver into the bag. Come Monday I'm sure to be back asking for recommendations on some drivers before I take the plunge and splash the cash. If there's any that comes to mind that would be worth a good work out I'm all ears.
