I noticed that Srixon Japan has a new ball out, the Srixon Z-Star and Z-star X. Heard that Stenson and Clark have been gaming these lately and perhaps Vijay & Boo Weekely would too. Any info on this ball and will be offered in the Pro Shop sometime soon?

They were announced last month in Japan but won't be available retail until the new year. All the top Japanese Srixon Pros are playing them already including Stenson who is in the pic below with Nakajima and Hoshino.

Both are three piece balls with the Z-Star being the slightly softer and more distance ball while the Z-Star X is slightly harder and geared towards faster swingers wanting control.

I just watched the Srixon release video and the pros actually are raving about the feel and control.. a soft ball with great spin and touch around the greens. Steve Flesch is also playing them it seems as he gets interviewed in the video along with Stenson.

I'll post the video on the blog.

I played with the country distributor about 4 weeks ago. He was given a sleeve of the 09 Srixon ball. It was still marked ZURS, I can't remember the other markings.

I had played with him a few times before at the same course and for this round it seemed that his trajectory was higher and longer carry. Greenside I tried it on chips and it felt the same as the current ZURS but seemed to check up faster on the low checker (could've been the greens that day though).

I played both Z-Star balls. The X is very long, but very hard. IMO, the regular Z-Star is similar to Pro V1X, and the X version is way beyond anything I've tried. Both versions spin very little, and are quite durable.

All or most of the Cleveland pros are playing Srixon ball now. Flesh Sing Weekely Rollins.... Could this be related to Srixon buying Cleveland J?
