gyli84
The golf shops where I am only stock the Japanese version of the Cobra S9-1 Pro S and Pro D driver, which comes stock with a Fujikura Rombax 6C09 shaft. Has anyone has tried this version in comparison to the US version with the Matrix Ozik shaft? If so can they comment on the launch characteristics? If you look at http://www.cobragolf.co.jp/drivers/s9-1_pros.shtml the recommended swing speed and ball speed is 44m/s and 63m/s (approximately 98mph and 140mph) which is lower than the recommended range for the Pro series of drivers on the US website. This has me wondering whether the head - and the position of the centre of gravity - is exactly the same as in its US counterpart or whether it has been toned down to fit the average Japanese golfer? Is the head the same and is the lower recommended swing speed just a function of a weaker higher spinning shaft? Also, I cannot find any specs anywhere on the Rombax 6C09. I know its an OEM shaft, but which shaft in the Rombax lineup is it supposed to play and feel similar to? Is this or the OEM Matrix Ozik a better shaft? Thanks.
