  6. I thought the old Black 50 with the red lettering and the new one are essentially the same shaft with same flex profile/weight/torque etc but different graphics. That is what I was told by my clubfitter. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  7. Take care everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this chaos.
  8. How does the FeX Proto compare to the standard FeX. Is the Proto meant to launch higher?
  9. How do you find the ball flight and spin compared to the DI-6 ? Is it any longer now that you've got a few rounds under the belt? Is the feel of the shaft also different? I too am also currently playing the DI-6 stiff and find the flex to fit me very well. Am considering the FEX/FEX Proto vs the DI series in a new driver setup.
  10. What's your favourite set of 2011 irons - the Yamaha V Forged/V Forged Tour? Have they knocked the AF-151s from your sig out of the bag? They look pretty nice, as does the OnOff 2011 Forged

  16. The golf shops where I am only stock the Japanese version of the Cobra S9-1 Pro S and Pro D driver, which comes stock with a Fujikura Rombax 6C09 shaft. Has anyone has tried this version in comparison to the US version with the Matrix Ozik shaft? If so can they comment on the launch characteristics? If you look at http://www.cobragolf.co.jp/drivers/s9-1_pros.shtml the recommended swing speed and ball speed is 44m/s and 63m/s (approximately 98mph and 140mph) which is lower than the recommended range for the Pro series of drivers on the US website. This has me wondering whether the head - and the position of the centre of gravity - is exactly the same as in its US counterpart or whether it has been toned down to fit the average Japanese golfer? Is the head the same and is the lower recommended swing speed just a function of a weaker higher spinning shaft? Also, I cannot find any specs anywhere on the Rombax 6C09. I know its an OEM shaft, but which shaft in the Rombax lineup is it supposed to play and feel similar to? Is this or the OEM Matrix Ozik a better shaft? Thanks.
  17. I position the ball an inch or two inside my left heel for practically all shots. The bottom of your swing arc is always going to be under your left armpit, so it makes sense to get accustomed to a constant ball position just inside that. This way you can learn to make an uncompromised swing and hit DOWN on your shots.
  18. The advice given has been to go with the V-7068. I've read that the V-series plays a little softer compared to the regular Axiv line. This would explain my Mamiya-OP describe the V-7068 as a Stiff/Regular and the 6568 a straight Stiff. Do you think I could handle the V-7068 with my ~95mph swing speed and aggressive transition? Anyone played this model or similar models with roughly the same swing speed? Thanks!
  19. I'm looking at getting either the Axiv or Axiv-V. Is anyone able to comment on whether the flexes in both ranges are similar - or does one range play stiffer in comparison to the other? For example, the V-7068 is classed as a 6.8 Stiff/Reg, whereas something like the 6568 or 7568 is stated as being a 6.8 but a straight Stiff. Can someone also explain why the V-7068 and the normal Axiv XX68 line can have the same flex number but vastly different cpms - 265 versus 279? I've been told that my ~95mph (240 yards) aggressive transition swing can handle the 7568, but I'm slightly sceptical given that I've seen many posts from people with 110+mph swings saying that they can't overpower this shaft. Would the V-7068 be more realistic - if it is at all softer in flex? Ideally I would prefer a heavier shaft though.
