gocchin
People have questioned in the past why Miuraism is so expensive compared to standard Miura Giken irons. Besides being forged on order from Miura's best steel and built by Miuraism themselves, I was finally able to get a list of official options from Miuraism. These are all included in the price which is why it is so high: loft change lie change length change Choose Satin or Mirror finish Choose any steel shaft (upgrades may cost more) Choose any Graphite shaft (upgrades may cost more) Face Progression/Offset change (yes you can specify how much offset on your irons!) Bounce Change Custom name stamping Sole/Grind design change Top Line/Blade change (ie thinner topline, thicker topline) Custom work like grinding neck etc I think those are some pretty good options that most makers won't offer. golfrules
Very interesting; thanks for sharing :) So, the steel they use for Miuraism irons are actually better than MG? Besides Satin or mirror finish, is black finish also available? Thanks :)

This is why alot of the Pro's don't have the same clubs you do. This is how their clubs are built.

Thanks :) Its difficult to actually claim that the steel for miuraism is better than standard MG but if you consider this, MG irons are more retail/mainstream so produced in larger quantities not forged on order like Miuraism. Since they are forged when ordered to specs, more attention is paid to the details of those Miuraism irons so one could consider the "quality" higher. Miura typically only offers black on wedges and blades so they may be able to do the Miuraism blades though it is not on their official list. Spoon
that is great! however that would never work for me without having to make several passes. its like going to a resto with having too many choices lol. this would however suit the golfer that knows everything about his/her specs. a trip to the local clubfitter and a solid swing would make this totally worth it. marty
This infor on the Miuraism sounded so great, I had to book a trip to Japan to do the fitting at their foundry. Bill from Miura NA, is hooking me up with an appoinment, and from what he claims,. that Mr M will do the fitting himself, I dont hold my hopes up for that,. but would be great if that really happens. Its a pricey option,. I told Bill what I wanted, and he said that it would be 500,000 to 800,000 Yen depending on the extent of the options I choose. I asked him about the price, and he said that I have to condsider the time at the factory, and 4-6 hours of fitting ( normally its 2-3 hours for a local Japanese ) with a translator, with Mr. M himself. will let you know how it goes,. and add some pics too
dorkman53
Another company that offers an impressive amount of customization is ScratchGolf. They take Japanese forgings as blanks, then you can have them customized to your heart's content. They started with wedges, but now make 3 different iron series as well. I think they used to sell them on this board, but haven't seen much activity lately here.
