  1. I was previously using the mizuno jpx e500 shafted with aerotech. So, in terms of forgiveness, the jpx e500 is certainly more forgiving than the pp 9003. In terms of feel, I find the miura to feel a little softer/"musher" compared to the jpx, but that could also be partly due to the shaft. Distance is probably slightly shorter (about 5 yards) than the jpx e500, but my fitter told me that the fubuki needs to be 'worn in'. Also, I believe that the loft on the jpx is about 1 degree stronger than the pp 9003, so that might have something to do with it. So far, I've only had a couple of short range sessions and one round with the pp 9003, so I don't yet have a lot of experience with it. Happy to share my views as I play more with it. Yamaha is pretty good, but I prefer PRGR. I actually quite like the prgr 501 and 500, which are both pretty old models. I've also been told that the TR500 is pretty awesome, but haven't had a chance to try it.
  2. I'm gaming with a set of pp9003 with fubuki graphite shafts. Prior to getting the miura, I tried several heads, including yamaha, epon 702/502/302, etc. As many here have stated, feel is a very subjective matter. I personally find the onoff and miura softer than the other irons I tried. No offense to the epon lovers, but I simply did not like the feel of the epons and they felt a little clickish to me. Also tried different shafts including aerotech, tour ad, graman, bassara, etc. I try to stick to graphite shafts (except for wedges) because of an old wrist injury. The one shaft that I wanted to try but didn't was the matrix program 95. Went with the fubuki because it felt smooth, but with a little bit of kick. In my opinion, the shaft probably makes more difference than the head (assuming they are similar heads). So, it's better to go with a set of heads that you like. After all, golf is very much a mental game ;)
  3. Hello all, Has anyone tried the new fubuki graphite iron shaft? If so, how do they compare to the bassara or fujikura rombax/motore? Thanks!
  4. Just wondering if there are any news on the new Inpres Classic :)
  5. A friend gave me a Miura precious edition 9 degree driver head (390g). I've personally read reviews and also tried Miura Giken and Miura irons, but never their drivers or fairway woods. Does anyone have any comments about them? I'm wondering if I should just keep it as a souvenir or if I should game it. I'm concerned that it may not be easy to handle given its loft and size. My current driver is a PRGR TS3 501 shafted with ilima ®. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  6. Tour AD proto graphite shaft for irons? Nice! Do tell us about these shafts :)
  7. I apologize for the off topic but does Gold's Factory also have plans to release a cavity back?
  8. Don't have any experience about the Diamana redboard but I very recently reshafted my driver (PRGR TS3 501) with the Diamana ilima shaft ® and found it to be very stable. My driver SS is similar to yours at around 90mph and feel that R on the ilima feels about right for me. The shaft experts on this forum would definitely be able to provide better insight into this matter.
  9. Thanks for the explanation :) I guess changing the shaft won't do me any good then ;)
  10. Hi all, I have a fade biased driver (PRGR T3 501) that has a square face (i.e. not open or closed). Is it fade biased because of the weight distribution of the club head, or the shaft, or a combination of the two? I like the current shaft (stock INSPEC shaft, M-40) that I'm using, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to make it less fade biased by changing the shaft? The basis of asking this is that some shafts can produce more kick and less spin? This might help when I'm not driving as well. Thanks!
  11. I've tried their irons (cavity back and muscle back) and wedges, and was actually quite pleasantly surprised. Feel is soft and they look to be quite well made. I believe they're forged by Kyoei.
  12. Will you be using your 56 degree wedge for bunker shots? If so, you might want to get a wedge with a higher bounce, especially if the sand in the bunkers where you normally play is soft.

  14. Tario, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that GF was forged by Kyoei. I take it that TSG also carries the GF CB in black? idrive, I guess the MG CB-2006 wasn't good enough for you to have kept them? :) It's interesting that you still own the GF CB - why do you still keep it? Also, do you own the GF CB in regular or black color? Just wondering how the black finish holds up. Thanks!
  15. Tour AD has been releasing new shafts for their drivers, so I was just wondering if they might be doing the same for their irons shafts as well. Any insights? Thanks!
  16. Hi all, What are your thoughts about Miura Giken's irons (specifically the CB-2006) as compared to Gold's Factory's cavity back irons, in terms of feel, forgiveness, etc.? I know that GF makes fabulous putters but am not sure if forging irons is their strength. Separately, it looks like MG hasn't come out with any new irons lately, the latest being the Hagane but that is targeted at senior golfers. Any rumors if they might be releasing something new soon? Thanks!
  17. Very nice! If it's not too inconvenient, can you please take some pictures of the clubface? What's the bounce on these 2 wedges?
  18. If possible, can you please post a mini review of the wedge and maybe compare to comparable wedges, such as the Yamaha Inpres, etc.? Thanks! :)
  19. Very nice :) Looks like it's probably designed for the better golfers? What's the bounce on these wedges?
  20. Thanks for your insights, as always. As you alluded to, it's difficult to find a good set of suitable iron graphite shaft. Between the Tour AD and the Axiv, which one provides more kick with less unwanted side spin (if there's such a thing)? Also, the Tour AD appears to have been in the market for quite a while. Do you know if there'll be an update anytime soon? Thanks :)
  21. I am actually using aerotech i80 on my mizunos now, and had nspro 950 before that. The aerotechs ok but don't provide much of a kick. I do agree with you that there isn't too much available information about graphite iron shafts, which is a shame. Did you also consider Axiv iron shafts? I wonder if there might be a new revision of Tour AD iron shafts if GD recently took them off the US website...
  22. Thanks for sharing! I'm considering a set of Tour AD 75 for an iron set and this certainly helps. Did you consider any other iron graphite shafts before deciding on the Tour AD?
