Hi everyone! I have a legacy and when I hit it well, it has increased my distance by at least 10 yards! however, I find I'm not hitting the sweet spot often enough to take advantage of increased yards, I also have an 11.5 and my ball goes quite high and lands with no roll. Would the PRGR GN 502 be more forgiving, and since what I have read about it being a high launch driver, would I be better off with a 10.5? Thanks for opinions!

The GN502 is a more forgiving driver but as you mentioned it also launches high. A 10.5 would help a bit but you also have to take into consideration the shaft and your swing style, ie flatter swing plane or more steep attack angle.

Thank-you T! I think I use to have a steeper swing, but with the legacy being an inch longer than my previous driver, I have been working hard on flattening my swing. I was thinking of a fubuki A flex (I do realize that this is not the "real" fubuki) as I think it will help with maybe getting more roll- there isn't much choice in A flexes. I love my diamana blue in my 3 wood, hated the aldila, so not sure what other options there are. Thank-you for your expert advice!

Hi T,

I told you about my new Legacy driver in S flex and after 3 games with it this weekend, I went out and bought another one. The stock shaft is not particularly long but good feel in combination with the head (Epon soft). I was able to find more fairway with this then existing gamer. I realize that the Callaway has the short hosel. Would this be a challenge to change shaft (not that I want to fool around with a good thing now)?

It does have a shorter hosel which is one of the reasons why shafts feel softer in this head. The head feels great of course as you know since its from Endo.

Duffer - are you playing the Legacy or the Legacy Aero? I was supposed to go for a fitting to comapre the Legacy + Ali Islei and the Legacy Aero + Kai'Li while I was in Japan but things came up at work and ... sera sera.

Golfgirl - T has already given you the scoop on the Legacy vs the 502. If you post or pm him with some more details about your swing he can surely help you to dial things in for a little more roll.

The Legacy has been a pretty solid club for Callaway getting some play by non-Callaway staff on both the JPGA and JLPGA.

I just have the Legacy (2008 model) but it was on sale in Toronto just for a period of 4 days as part of a store grand opening. You really don't want to know the price I paid for two brand new Legacy. I am one happy camper.

Hi Duffer, greeting from Hong Kong. Glad to know that you got new toys to play around in Toronto and you like it. My GN502 did give me higher ball flight that I cannot do the last two years and I am quite pleased with that. But when it's windy you know what will happen.

I am, however, trying the new Tour GN502 and let's see what the result will be. When are you coming back to Hong Kong and allow me to have a treat for you in Discovery Bay?

cheers

Kevin

Come to think of it, the feel does remind me a bit of the Epon 460ZR. They should release something similar in the U.S Imo, its time people feel this sensation for themselves.

Kevin,

I am actually bring one back to HK this week since it is not available there for some strange reason. You and Master can try it out since it is a stiff when we go to DB.

Duffer,

Yes, we can try it out when you're back. Just tried the Tour version of PRGR's GN502 together today with Steve at DB, surprisingly easy to hit and the mid trajectory ball flight are both stable and long; good for me too :->. Definitely one of the best driver I've tried and seriously considering to buy one.

cheers, Kevin
