idrive
Mine arrived last night on the UPS truck. Before this I had only seen pictures so I opened the box and they are beautiful. Everything looks clean and I like the way they look at setup with very little offset. My only concern is the soles and bounce. To me they look like Game improvement soles but no where else on the club do I get that feeling. Tennessee is home for me so I'm worried about the bounce on our hard ground come summertime. Let me know your thougths on this? Now in saying all that this is my first set of JDM so are the sole profiles different to more suit weather conditions there? I know I'm probably jumping the gun and once I finally get to hit them I want even notice. I have only played these off of pretty tight cold fairways. No problems. What you're seeing is an extremely versatile grind. I don't believe there is anything as 1 grind that is best for you. There are to many different playing conditions regardless of how you swing the club. I do believe these will work best on softer fairways but they will work off of any lie. Really want to know what you think of these after you've had a chance to hit them.

Idrive, You know how long I've waited so I almost fell over when they came to my door last night. They are really nice and give the look of confidence. My issue now it is 14 degrees and snowing and isn't warming up anytime soon. The aerotech shafts really look good in these. Off sudject, I want to thank you for all your help and knowledge with turning me the direction of JDM products. It has made these winter days better because now I get to learn more about golf equipment rather than being mad I can't play. Now my negative for you, Man you have cost me some money. If you notice my putter collection has grown from one Scotty Cameron to five pretty high end and I still don't know which one too use. How do you choose between your hundreds... idrive
I'm happy to report I just got off the course after playing 25 holes today. Playing again tomorrow in Mesquite. Supposed to be 55* no wind. About the putters... soon you will have one made for you. It will be exactly the way you want a putter. It will be built with your specs. Then it's easy to pick out the Gamer. After you have a couple more made then you start a rotation... :)
coops1967
Mr. "C",I, too, am puzzled by the lack of reviews or comments about the AF302 Iron. On the landscape of all Golf Gear, the 301 is considered to be one of the very best Iron designs for feel and performance so it follows that the 302 should be an improvement and "raves" should be flooding in. Hmmmm!! Well, i'm still perfectly happy with my 301's.. but did see the 302's in person (& the 502's) at the range yesterday (in Bangkok). Didn't try them out, as they only had 302's with Nippon shafts - so my 301's with PX would be way different just from the shaft... BUT the big difference between the two i'd say is the offset. I find the amount of offset in the 301's perfectly ok, however the 302's offsets are reduced and look great... and would make a lovely mixed set with the AF-Tours (would have to bend the longest 302 loft about a degree weaker to even the 2 degree loft differences out...). The 8 irons are 2.4mm for the blade and 2.7mm offset for the Af-302... and the weaker PW loft of 48 in the Tours does appeal to me. I did try out the guys own AF-Tour 7 iron with X100 shafts compared to my 301's with PX 6.0 - very nice. First time i've hit the X100 and seemed fine... and distance was about half a club less which would be as expected. Coops
landshark
so jeff, which irons do you think will be the eventual gamers-----302, 502, or skydreams?
pca168
Which is most forgiving and easy to play 502 or 701? And what pros and cons of each? Thanks
Spoon
Which is most forgiving and easy to play 502 or 701?And what pros and cons of each? Thanks between the 502 and 701 the 701 is a tad more forgiving and longer than the 502. the word though is 'tad' the 701 also is also touted as GI and has a cavity and 2 tungsten plugs at the sole to help the ball get up. the 502 has more feel and is a significant improvement over the 501 and it is more workable than the 701. depending on your usage or game i will advice you to try both models and pick one that suits your eye, swing. you will know which one you prefer. dont get to bugged down on specs and what people online say becasue in the end it is you who will be gaming the clubs. midwestgolfer
I have been a miura iron player for several seasons. I really like the feel of the clubs so I was not really interested to hit the Epon 502's. I have epon driver and 3 so I respect their products. I tried the 502 and could not believe the difference in feel and distance. I purchased a set, and they are the best irons that I have ever owned. Miura are wonderful but the traditional mindset the club maker has misses the opportunity to advance the club with new technologies. Epon is on the game and they are great. They are indeed longer and part of this is the aggressive loft. The club in general has caused me to adjust my distances by one club. I altered the lie of an Epon wedge set to keep of with the consistency change in lofts in the iron set. These irons have the feel, control and distance to change your game....I know this sounds silly but it is true for me.
