Posted February 12, 201015 yr Love the looks of this wedge. The grooves do look very sharp. Can't wait to try them out, although it is slightly on the heavy side for my taste. Any tips how to bring down the swingweight? Edited February 13, 201015 yr by shacco
February 12, 201015 yr Do you want to decrease the swing weight by itself without caring for the dynamic weight? If so then take the grip off, wrap some lead tape around the butt end, regrip and then you will have a lower swing weight. BTW great looking wedge. Those grooves do look like they would shred some golf balls.

I have an Epon KGX208 52° wedge with the same shaft as the yamaha (NS Pro 950 GH stiff) and I prefer the overall balance of the epon. I prefer my wedges to be more balanced and not too "head heavy" which makes the transition to my irons a lot better for me. I don't think overall weight is an issue here, so I will try to add some lead tape. How much do I have to add? A sticker said the Yamaha is D3 and the Epons are suppose to be D2. Sorry if those are dumb questions, but I don't know anything about clubmaking. What other choices do I have if the overall weight should become too heavy? Edited February 12, 201015 yr by shacco

You are going to have to experiment on how much lead tape you need to use to get to the desired swing weight. The other way you can get the swing weight down is to cut the shaft a touch shorter to get a lighter swing weight.
February 12, 201015 yr I think I will go with the lead tape first. Thanks Try taking it to your local clubmaker and tell him what you told us. I assume you dont have a swing weight scale so to dail it in better have someone who does have one do this labor for you.
