did you see the prgr egg on ebay?

it was $160 buy it now, should have picked it up but it was too good to be true and it's from hong kong.

the following morning someone made a bid and the BIN was gone, now it's up to $400. it's crazy.

I bid up $300.00, thought I lost it but received a second chance offer from ebay at the $300.00 figure. Not sure what to do. Good feedback from seller but who nows, any advice.

+1 on that. Of course we will be disappointed for you when you do your money........but if you buy from reliable sources such as TSG you wont have to worry about such things.

Me? wouldn't buy from HK..........may as well set my wallet on fire and be done with it.

It went for over $400. Watch and see how many more come on eBay from this seller. His feedback is good but it is all with Iron Headcover and other stuff that frankly if fake is no big deal. I got a second chance offer so i would expect that more heads are coming.

I just saw one at ebay and I'm assuming its from the same seller. Just to let you guys know, PRGR does NOT in anyway sell heads only or release heads to any retailers and that includes us with an actual PRGR Japan account.

That said the head looks pretty real.

The only thing that throws me off is the headweight. My 17* was 208.9g when I weighed it while reshafting.

That one says 200g which would need 45" in length to reach D0+

Haha you can get in line... I've been asked by 10+ people over the last few months. (^_^)

It is most likely those Eggs are authentic, because typically lesser known JDM gear is NOT counterfeited because counterfeiters would not benefit from something that does not have global mass appeal and most people don't even know what PRGR is. This is why the most common counterfeited clubs are of course TM and Callaway cause everyone knows who they are.

So I thought about it and its possible someone is getting their hands on factory discards, ie heads that did not make Quality Assurance ie too light in weight or not quite to spec.

I suppose if I do buy it, every good shot it will be genuine and every bad shot it will be a fake.

T, I do not know about EGGs but there are all sort of fake PRGR from China, both woods and irons. I have seen and played fake GN502 and 505 driver and FW. Most of the time, they would just sell heads only.

Thanks R for letting me know. Here in Japan, fakes and counterfeits are very much frowned upon and not tolerated so I've never seen any here myself. Rarely if ever clubs are sold as heads only new here as there isn't that same "tour issue" or prototype craze as there is in the States.

Ok, so i took a punt and the head was delivered yesterday (what the heck), On inspecting the head

my initial thoughts were this is definately genuine as the craftsmanship was equal to my two PRGR drivers. Then I noticed the red dot was not round and the rear of the clubs paint finish was not gloss, "it is a fake" came into my mind. I then carefully persued the pictures on the forum and found the red dot is not round but flatish on one side and the paint finish is not all gloss, everything is 100% accurate. I can definately say the head is genuine down to its weight and measurements and it is off to my club fitter to be shafted with either the Kai'li or an Accra shaft.

I intend to play with it this weekend and will report on my results.
