Jerry in China
All right. I am using a SUS 303 putter. I am not challenging it. But just want to get some truth here. People are talking about high end putters with SUS 303 heads. SUS 303 is a good material, because the surface is shine, and very easy to be cut into certain shape. So cosmetically, it is nice, and it can be easily cut into the exact shape. Good. However, with many brands trying to give an impression that SUS 303 is so so premium, I am confused. From the book, SUS 303 is SUS 304 being added with more S and P content. While, SUS 304 is the most widely used stainless steel. In that case, the SUS 303 is not an extreme high end material. I'd say, it is a nice stainless steel. That is it. Am I getting the right idea?
Mjr. D
No idea man. All I know is i've had and tried many putters with many different materials and inserts and faces and not one putter can match the feel of the Bettinardi BB2 DASS copper with sound slot. That thing is far and away, the best feeling putter i've ever rolled a ball with. And it's not even close.
Spoon
compromise of feel and durability. for feel alone carbon steel is preferred but is less durable. remember feel is subjective and these are my own inputs on sus303
seesawgolfer
compromise of feel and durability. for feel alone carbon steel is preferred but is less durable. remember feel is subjective and these are my own inputs on sus303 I agree with this 100%. The Carbon steel has a nice softer feel. The SUS303 has a more solid and firm *tink*. But it depends on personal preference.
