shallow and forgiving 5 wood for senior player??

Spoon

Recommended Posts

guys my dad is a pretty strong guy, he still has a 100mph driver ss at 64 years old.

his clubs are: Driver ems 10.5 with quadra 55r,

wood: epon ht machline 55sr

hybrids 22/25 epon 901

hes looking for a nice 17/18 4/5 wood to fill in the gap nicely. he is considering the epon as usual but the 202 in 18*

looks quite mediocre. hes also considering the egg spoon 18* but that may be the same case, underrated compared to

their 15* siblings.

was doing research and this one looks interesting PRGR 2010 RED 505 Fairway Wood?? basically he wants something

that is long(who doesnt) also versatile to hit from the rough and he specifically wants it shallow faced. any advise guys?

once again i am thinking between the 202 and the egg spoon. the prgr red looks interesting as well but im not really hot

on the looks.

C,

You should consider the Yamaha Impres X D 4 wood for your dad. I game the older model 4 wood and love the somewhat shallow head and great feel. I put in the GD SF shaft and lower the launch a bit from the soft stock R flex. I also game the EMS with FE 55 R but have no love for any Epon FW.

T might agree here but the on off is a great club, my mate hits it and he changed from the egg thinks its much easier, more classical

and hes using the roddio m6 reg shaft swears by it

that might be well worth considering?

I love the ONOFF, it has great feel and is pretty explosive, it may not however be as shallow as some of the others which is typical as you get to 5 7 9 woods.

The RED 505 is VERY shallow and very very easy to hit. It is also very good distance wise.

You already know the egg performs, that may be the way to go.
