supo
i got home last night after a cpl to many asahi super drys, and my wife said shhhh sit down ill tell you whats happeneing here u like this stuff, there was a TV show on about the CEO of IOMIC moving his plant to thailand by,gulp..., the end of this yr. he was very nervous about the quality of the product being produced over there and worried beceause the chinese manufacturing copying his product exactly with massively inferior materials and selling them for next to nothing. iTHINK they said branded as iomic. the weird thing was the cost base was the same MIJ to MIT .. he looked quite dispondant about the move. but admitted it was neccessary. T did u see this expose as well?

T did u see this expose as well? As far as i am aware, Iomic the corded models are already manufactured there. I guess its natural for them to pick thailand for the remaining of their collection to be manufactured. I think they have done so for more than a year since they released those corded grips. I think Thailand are quite an expert in manufacturing grips. Even golf pride has done so with their new G2 Wrap
Spoon
how can the cost base be the same? anyway i guess the move would to lower manufacturing costs? fwiw i currently just installed GP 2g white grips in all my sticks. they are by far the most tacky feeling grips i have ever felt. more than iomic stickies. nothing wrong with thailand, lotsa JP manufacturing plants have moved there. skippercarey
If you like sticky grips then the Gripmaster Leather Grips are the ultimate, i havent cleaned mine in over a year all they need is to wipe with damp cloth and dry, but i rarely do that coz sometimes its to tacky, seriously you dont even need to wear a glove but if you still do like i do the glove lasts twice a long as there isnt the same amount of friction with leather on leather as compared to leather on cord/rubber. And also they are awesome in the rain they just get tackier

ant
bought iomic putter grip just recently and it says made in japan. its really nice grip tho and as long as they can maintain that quality dont really care where its made. gocchin
As far as I know all elastomer Iomic grips are and still will be made in Japan, as that's a process only Japan uses unlike ABR or other rubber manufacturing elsewhere. Many Japanese companies are worried about fakes, China is copying everything these days. They recently even released a car that had the front end of a Toyota Corolla and the rear of a Honda Accord and they had no problems admitting copying the cars, they even sold them promoting those facts!! Crazy. Iomics are already be faked in China: Real Iomic on left, fake from China on right:

ant
its much harder to spot the difference on the internet and thats why its best to buy from credible places/people. even if you see a good deal you may wanna pay a little extra for that peace of mind, know what i'm saying ?! fake clubs is the real problem tho, grip is no big deal compared to that really. Scary, although we can spot the difference , imagine those that are not used to pick out the differences......
