Posted November 16, 201014 yr Can anyone give me a rundown compare/contrast of the new Tourstage 705 (415 cc) vs. the RC vs tour drivers? I love the looks of both of these heads, but wonder how they perform? Thanks
November 17, 201014 yr Tourstage is much more well known for the drivers while RC is better known for fairway woods and utilities. That said both are good drivers. The 705 is very technologically advanced, ie ribbed crown with variable thickness, dual area face, chemically milled body, premium forged VL Titanium etc. The RC is more no frills. Both provide that solid but soft feel and both are made for the better player. At this point the 705 is so new it's hard to compare performance yet as I haven't gotten the demo yet. I did like the Tour VS though as it had a penetrating trajectory and very nice feel.
November 17, 201014 yr Author Gocchin, Thanks for the info. Very helpful. I will keep my eyes peeled for reviews after you demo the 705.
November 17, 201014 yr I have had both an older x-drive and RC BBD a while back. And though things may have changed the last several years... to compare them they were quite equal in performance and forgiveness, but i did like the feel at impact of the TourStage.
November 18, 201014 yr I have my eye on the new Tourstage 705 415 ( I believe it is) model. That and the new Yamaha. Right now I have the Crazy.... I absolutely hate the company.... from it's name to it's cheesy graphics, but they make legit legit stuff, unfortunately. That driver and 50T combo is just off the charts. I want something to replace it but the problem is, there just isn't anything............ yet. Quadra Proto 75 and tourstage might be the best challenger..
November 18, 201014 yr with you on Crazy, simply fugly but hey if it performs for you you'd rather have that than some eye candy that doesnt, right. personally really like that new RC design, no gimmicks.
