18th Legion
Thanks once again, to Tario, Chris, TourspecGolf, and Saqra! The irons are stunning. The highest of quality and forged brilliance is evident. I have not had the opportunity to hit these, as it has been cold and rainy here in the Northwest. (I can do one or the other, but not both). The irons are very compact and I must admit that I am not certain they will fit this Game Improvers ability or lack thereof. I currently game a set of TaylorMade 2008 TP Forged Irons for which I probably need a little more forgiveness. The 2008 TPs had a little more offset than the 2009s or the R9 TPs. When compared to the TMs the Saqra's do look a bit intimidating to me. For that reason, I am not sure what I will do. I don't want to do anything in bad taste or to be disrespectful. I contacted Tario to explain my dilemma and received nothing but assurance. Just goes to show you what a class act Tourspec is. In any case, I am posting some pics of the Saqra Irons as well as some comparison pics with the TMs. Enjoy. Mjr. D
If you're interested in selling them, I'd be interested in buying them. If that's ok with TSG. I would love to know how these match up with the Epon 302's and Kyoei Zestaim.
Spoon
they look very nice. they remind me of the George spirits irons. i would try them at least, these will play similar to the 302s, even the lofts are almost the same. ive tried this in a 7iron and they are similar to the 302s, a tad more crisp. C, I built a set of the CB for a friend using your old AXIV shafts and they are indeed very good. The Saqra is really a ball striker's delight with a soft yet very crisp precise feel with no 'mushiness' to them at all. I personally do not have any issue withe the reverse offset on the short irons.

The good thing should I go that route is that I will turn around and get my wishlist irons, TaylorMade Burner Forged, although it looks like the Nippon 950 Reg shafts are no longer available. It certainly is a good decision to have. I feel very fortunate. Edited December 29, 2010 by 18th Legion

I must say that the offset is so minimal when compared to my TM TP Forged, that I agree the Reverse Offset would have little effect. A Ball Striker I am not. Bunker18
Great comparison post. I agree with Spoon that the Saqras remind me of the George spirits irons and even going back further to the G-Field iron! 18th, when you get your Burner Forged irons I would like to see a comparison post on that too! Thx
bruinduke
How did you win the irons? Congratulations. What shafts are in the heads? Funny that you're looking for burner forged irons. I have a set of burner forged irons coming this week and I am looking forward to giving them a go. The saqra irons look great, especially the muscle back. The saqra irons look great, especially the muscle back. He won them in the GTI blog November giveaways. I think the contest was for Saqra, Epon driver, Taylormmade putter, Taylormade driver, and Seven Hils bag. It was cool. Every week was another giveaway all throughout November.
