supo
i have a tendency to pull my wedges a bit i juts had the thought to flatten the lie 1% is this a common thing bec i like to hit slice wedges in anyway to make it sit and spin rathe than run on if i turn the hands then it wil still go staraighter. oh building gurus of clubs.., does this make sense? Eca
Stew, you'll find arguments on both side but your results speaks for itself. as long as it consistently finds the left side then u need to go flatter. With your hcp especially, no point discussing swing :)

Stew get on a lie board and test em, its probably more than likely a swing issue if its only happening with the wedges. Its easy to come over the top with the shorter clubs and its not as easy to hold off on the shot with a wedge as it might be with a over the top swing with the driver.........but check the lie for certain
Vegaman
From what i understand its quite common among Low handicap and pro players to have flatter lies in the wedges. This to avoid having the heel dig in especially from the rough, and making it easier to lay the face open..Im not sure about this, but thats what I have heard several times. It seems that many pros follow the formula of: Flatter lie than most in the driver, (more workable/anti hook) more often than not upright and slightly longer than standard in the irons (because of their often tall, erect and "athletic" posture/swing and flat lie again in the wedges. Blader-X
I went to flattening my wedges by 2-3 degrees a few years back and have had much improved results for basically all the reasons discussed above. At the time the ball striking wasn't as consistent on short shots with them. I had either read or heard about the pros/low-handi's flattening wedges to help with the very same thing I was experiencing. I did do some lie board and impact tape results and everything pointed to my strikes being a little more to the toe side. This most likely was because the heel was getting in the way and "flipping" ever so slightly the head around. Once I had the lies flattened, it was ideal. In fact you can see this in my "JDM wedge triumvirate" post. Look at the SDJ wedge. On one of the pics I posted you'll notice on the face how the impacts are slighty away from center out towards the toe. This was from only one range session and you may not notice but because I know what to look for in my swing it really stands out for me. Of course I did expect to see this and once the club comes back with my specific specs I expect that pattern to not only tighten up but move back towards ever so slighty inside center. Stew take one of your wedges and have it bent 2 degrees flat. Then go out and hit a variety of short, medium, full even open face shots and see how it goes. I think you may be pleasantly surprised. Eca
We do all sorts of shots with our wedges that's why i said if it is 'consistently' going left then you need flatter.
Shambles
We do all sorts of shots with our wedges that's why i said if it is 'consistently' going left then you need flatter. I agree. Golf just does not suit everybody in the same way and if you want the best solution it needs to be fit to your personal proclivities. A consistent error can be alleviated by an adjustment to your equipment but that adjustment need not necessarily work for all and therefore cannot be a general solution. A better solution can only be determined by a consistent problem. Shambles

idrive
I have had my wedges "flatter" for the last couple o years now. Much easier to hit the variety of shots we hit with the wedges. I have always kept my lies on all clubs as flat as possible.
