irishputter
Are most of you purchasing the Fairway Wood or the Hybrid Spoon. Also, what is the loft you are playing. I've never hit this club so am curious as to what is its best use. Thanks. Edited May 3, 2011 by irishputter
Spoon
Have had the 15 and 17 fw wood they are loong! 17 though is more versatile and easier For off the deck use. Many many threads here abot the egg. Best wood by far in tsg. I originally had the 15 then 17 but want to go back to 15 since I Am in better shape. Thinking of parting with my 17 head. If u want it its yours for a steal
FatMan
It'll depend on what you need it for. For distance, go with the Egg Spoon.

+TourSpecGolfer
I play the new EGG spoon. I can nail that thing as long as my driver sometimes. It's reliable at about 240.

gocchin
In this case its not really a question of favorite as both clubs serve different purposes. The Spoon is a 3 or 4 wood and the FW model is a 5 7 9 wood. So they are meant to compliment each other ie bag a 15* spoon and 18* fw or a 17* spoon and 20* fw. Many go for the 17 as it does not lose much distance vs the 15 but seems to be easier to launch (both are pretty easy)

irishputter
I just ordered the Royal Collection 18* UT (same club as the TRC UT, but U.S. lofts) ....so the logical progression would be to go with the 15*. _______ EDIT: After tossing and turning, I ended up ordering the RC JP104FH 21* (same club as the TRC UT 20*, but in U.S. lofts). I did this because sometime soon the Egg Spoon 17* will be in the bag, a perfect compliment to the 21* Edited May 5, 2011 by irishputter
Spoon
I have the Royal Collection 18* UT (same club as the TRC UT, but U.S. lofts) already in the bag.... since the Egg is such a long hitter from what I've heard, do I still have the option to bag the Egg Spoon 17* or would it be more logical to go with the 15* Looking for easy to hit, high launch. ONLY will use on fairway, NEVER off the tee. I'm an 8 handicap with solid ball striking skills. Again, I am new to this club, so have NO experience with the EGG....What do you recommend? dude if your an 8 then the 15 wont be a problem at all. 17 obviously launches higher but depending on the shaft you choose you can get that with the 15. also due to the nature of the club and the shallower face you will get higher launch compared to other deeper faced woods. you cant go wrong with either one. to confuse you more. hey post pics of your RC. i need one in 19*
idrive
IMO. If you strike the ball well go with the 15* if looking for distance. If you want to throttle down, choke down, hit different shots, 17* You can see what I play....

Eca
I got the px-03 model with ilima 80s. Its sound is disheartening at first but the results starts speaking for itself. I had it going against the tour edge exotics Cb3 which is loonng FW & I had 3 witnesses see this kick it's ass. Weird combo of boring/penetrating flight with great carry. Easy off the deck & as long as you tee it really low then just as easy off the tee. Im glad it's not a driver because not many knows about this brand & could easily accuse me of using illegal clubs. The sound & performance makes playing partners ask a lot of questions. Edited May 4, 2011 by Eca

Eca
15* also it's been mentioned here that the result I'm getting is the characteristic of this model. The px-03d is a higher flight & better sound & even lower profile. So you got a choice :)

It actually helped STOP the confusion. After reading through, the 17* is going to give me the best point-and-shoot fairway finder accuracy that I am looking for (that's priority for me), more versatility, and ALMOST the same distance with the 17* as the 15*......so I'm going 17*. I think with my swing speed of 95, I'm not a power hitter, so I get more distance from a higher lofted club (17*) than a lower (15*). Before I was going 12*, 15*, 18*, 21*, 24*.....TOO MANY CLUBS overlapping.........now I'm simplifying and going 12*, 17*, 21*, 24*.....more space in bag for another wedge. A win-win. You still got that 17* for sale Spoon? I need to buy one.

Every now and then when the swing is good I think of going back to the 15 but I know I will regret it on off-golfing days. Especially now that I am playing post injury Golf, the 17 is more than I can ask for, quite happy with it. Think I will hold on to it for now. As I mentioned my swing has been good as of late, and if that 15 of stew in the fs section was legit I would have gone for it, in fact I almost did. We just adopted a baby May 5th, so I've had my hands full.
