Spoon
Guys after tinkering with my yonex 380 driver I have come to the conclusion That the 60+ gram shafts are too light. The quadra fex is not satisfactory and will Reshaft it with a tour ad quattro md 7 shaft I have being idle. This got me thinking I have an older epon 380 10deg that Ian thinking of playing around with.Do note his is Is an old classic and long even by today's standards. I hear its epons longest driver to date? Anyway Wondering what to shaft it with. The gd tour ad 9003 comes to mind, even the quadra 70ssounds interesting But don't want to shell out another 5bills for an experimental head. Has anyone compared the proto to the 9003? I think that the 9003 is gds top of the tops similar to the diamana Stingers etc etc. Need input guys. Thanks Edited May 20, 2011 by Spoon

Once you try the 80ts hard to Try anything else. I'm thinking the proto but also am curious about the 9003 And even e stinger but those are sooooo hard to find. Spoon
Yea lol :) but it just going to get a little expensive. Tell me about it. Il do a head to head yonex380 vs epon380 . Winner gets To stay in the bag
skippercarey
I had the P9003 in a Epon 101, truly great shaft one of my biggest regrets was selling it........at the time i had that and my current 101 FEx the FEx won out obvoiusly but i still rate the P9003 highly, launch is higher than FEx low spin and easier to turn over. a lot better than the DI series IMO......i think it would work well in the smaller head

gocchin
The 380 Technity! That has to be one of the best small heads of all time. A heavier shaft definitely works well with the smaller head as it creates stability and almost 3 wood like control.

gocchin
Actually C there was a 360 model and even a 340 and 320 in earlier years. The 380 did say 380 Technity or Technica while the older models 360 and lower said Technica I think. T

Spoon
here is the finished product guys after going thru a week long process of coating, glazing etc. it looks ten times better than the original persimmon paintjob. words cannot describe how it looks in the flesh. on the tee under the sun it looks very very hypnotizing. has a 3d like effect just like the red burlwood trim you see in european luxury cars. it is currently shafted with GD 9003s but may pull the shaft and just use it with the 360s bigger brother the technity 380cc which may get the special finish as well. what do you guys think? Spoon
ok my 380cc technica forged titan arrived today. LOOKS STUNNING. small little bugger same size as my old yonex. this will be much much longer though. according to Chris and Gocchin a favorite with the guys at endo. taking this to the fitter today to be mated to the GD 9003 shaft. real excited about this one. if the shaft works i am defintely pulling my quadra proto fex 65s from my epon and getting the proto 75s here are pics of the head
Shambles
Spoon, That's the second great paint job you have put on the 360. Seems to me you have a great treasure somewhere. Shambles
coops1967
As much as I like the wood look on the 360... that 380 is perfect. That last top view pic has me seriously wanting one - I'd liked the look of the new 380 yonex but reports of not so good sound/feel were disappointing, and as i'm using an Adams 9015D which sounds/feels better than any other modern 460cc driver i've tried... Would love to hear how it sounds - take a video if possible, please! I say this because a family friend used an Epon driver for a while and the sound was quite unusual in a good way - almost soft and a kind of thump to it rather than hideous crash/ting sound. I shall have to see if there are any kicking around in Bangkok.... That is what 'pear-shaped' means, i've seen some terrible round backed heads optimistically described as pear-shaped.... Thanks shambles! Coops, I hace scoured Bangkok none to be had. I liked the yonex but it felt tingy , now this 380 Is one of the softest feeling drives you will ever find. Soft and springy is what I like to describe it. Something like he old technicity zr but softer and more compact feeling. Ultimate 380 compact true pear shaped ballistic cannon. Thanks to gio who shipped it all the wAy From the Uk for me. This used to be GOcchin's many many seasons ago.

Spoon
Looks awesome. Keep us posted C! Will most certainly do. Playing this at 45 d2 265 cpm. Did not want to play it too stiff, also did not want to Tip the shaft, cut the butt only. Had it spines and playing The shaft spine at 6ocklock for maximum distance. Could Have optednfor 3 oclock for accuracy but that's just boring. Will be playing Tom and if this one works, I'm pullingbthe FEX proto 65s and getting the 70s for my epon
