supo
i built the RYOAM v spec D1 with a crazy 80 noir. this set up is probalby the mostexepnsive set up in world golf! i have enjoyed palying it , but somehtig wasnt right. i was missing distance nad not geting the ball out of the screws wnough, wlays hitting of the sole of the driver ,which is most un like me, most others i hit are offthe top so i stoppedgaming it , blaming ........something. i took it in to naks 2 nights ago to swap out the saft to the stinger. he measure it up its 45.125 inch BUT the SW was D0......................., i sid ok swap over ,he loked perplexed and said hang on , try this atthe range first , bec this set is is as good as anything ive ever seen. who am i to argue......., he put 2 small strips of lead tape over the gold embelm o n the bum of the club. and made it SW D2.5 i took it tothe range last night ............... F................ME ! what a differnce. its lower heavier, and every shot was straight out the middle of the club. enormous difference. enormous. those with ryomas. if something not rigth and the shaft is the bees knees in it MIGHT just waant to try this little piece of club fixery. bec mines like a totally new club now. im blown away by the differnce. D0 is way to light for you stew. also the length you play it could have contributed to the lighter weight. i dont know but i think for those who play em with shorter shafts can order them in a heavier head say 196-204grams. i personally play my drivers at 45.25 @ d3-d4 and it makes a world of difference. love to feel the head. Eca
Hey Stew, thanks heaps, this is so valuable info. I've been warned once the cb46 arrives I will have trouble with SW. It's d2.5 with quadra 65sx & the crazy is lighter. Question is tip weights vs lead tape. I'm sure they will have a different affect on the club. supo
i went tip weights in teh kasco thing last night with resounding success took it from d0 to d2 i dont know what works better , but they both did hte job required. lead tape look unsightly tho i m not a fan of that to look at, might black paint it in

Eca
"he put 2 small strips of lead tape over the gold embelm o n the bum of the club. and made it SW D2.5" Stew is this the circular thing? 3g strips x 2 Doesn't that area promote higher launch? Spoon
Hey Stew, thanks heaps, this is so valuable info. I've been warned once the cb46 arrives I will have trouble with SW. It's d2.5 with quadra 65sx & the crazy is lighter. Question is tip weights vs lead tape. I'm sure they will have a different affect on the club. in my experience with tip weight you have to get them done properly. ive seen lazy club builders just dropping the weights inside the shaft and plugging them. this is actually counter productive as the weight is not exactly at the bottom of the shaft ( inside the hosel of the club) do note that when the shaft is assembled, there is some glue that oozes inside the shaft, sometimes extending 1/4 an inch passed the hosel line. so by adding tip weight you are actually placing approx 1.5" above the tip of the shaft. and that will affect playability and feel by a lot. what should be done is to use a special rod with a drill bit in the end and drill that excess glue out until the metal part of the hosel in conjuction with the tip of the shaft, only then can you successfully employ weighted plugs. this is a time consuming approach. now i use lead tape a lot of the time since its easy, convenient and if you have the patience i tend to cut and weigh my tape and place them strategically in the channels of the sole of the club. sometimes you wont even know its there. some say it will affect the original weighting and CG of the club but if you arent a tour pro then it wont matter. now to the effect on the club, expect your CPMs to drop by 3-4 per swingweight added give or take a few. How heavy are those strips and he put it on the gold 'DSI' at the very back?
supo
i just cut 2 strips to cover the dsi and coloured it in, with black permanant marker to make it look a bit better. u might need only 1 1 slice to go to d2 2 will go to d31/2 id think, the difference has been amazing, i gamed it on saunday and iddnt top one everything was form the cnetre or mid toe. huge differnce. much much better
