Eca
1 full season with KBS, love the feel, flight always high though. Tried project x got better flight, always loved rifle in the past. Then looking around & saw modus..
supo
yea they are tight, and high, ball gets up a lot higher than the kbs, much better distance control i think, the kbs are like a uber populsion device. the ball goes further with these than others ive found i dont like palying them. cant get my distance right and they afeel a bit boardy. the ,modus play just a little looser than flex so tour x isnt say a DG x 100. and its a lot nice rfeeling and the ball goes the :right: distance. Eca
Is the SP Blue lower than modus Stew?
gbs
Is the SP Blue lower than modus Stew? I am gaming these at the moment. I have them soft stepped. I am loving them the are quite high launching and lands softly. i get more distance with these and as stew said they are controllable and consistant. These are my favourite iron shafts atm. Eca
Hmm what I read initially modus is low & tip stiff. Sounds like SP blue if I wanna lower ball flight.
supo
blue is lower. lowest orange is mid . gives a higher kick but still straight. modus gets in the air quickly and stays there. but goes staraight. feel in all is a bilion times better than DG. albeit it prob higher. been hitting the prototype modus in my yamaha 08s day light between these and EVERYHING else. skippercarey
Hmm what I read initially modus is low & tip stiff. Sounds like SP blue if I wanna lower ball flight. Hi Eric, i has KBS originaly in the AF Tours B4 switching to the SP Blues, they launch a little lower for me but its not a huge difference the main difference is the SP Blue has a lot lot better feel than the KBS and as Stew said better distance control, i think it depends what head you putting them on to...........i hit the modus some TM irons and for me they came out much the same height but flex was softer and i think the blues felt better but not by much. My mate has the new c taper KBS going in a set probably this week so i will be interested to see how they go
Spoon
E, il be blunt, the blues are what you want. they feel a lot better than the modus shafts. actually i am not impressed with the modus at all. they are good but maybe i got spoiled with the original protos i had. now switching from kbs to the modus or the sp blues is a step in the right direction. get the blues
supo
sounds like a state of origin chant..............., or a sat arvo at the "G". carrrrrrrrrn the blues !!!!!!
Eca
Lol Go the Blues hehe. I don't think we stand a chance this year. The maroons are practically the Aussie squad. C, thanks for that, very intrigued indeed with SP Blue.

C, thanks for that, very intrigued indeed with SP Blue. if you decide to go modus i suggest the x flex 120g version. the modus is softer to flex and the S is 114 grams versus 126 or kbs. the x is 120 s closer to your KBS. Spoon
Eric, i am reviving my old modus and will hard step the stiffs, lets see how they fare. found the S flex to be a bit on the loose side hopefully hard stepping will make em more tight! had this idea bec i am suffering with my current set up of 1050s. perfect weight and flex although i lost about 1 club due to the excessive height i am getting. Eca
Sounds interesting C.. See how it goes. Just googling around and come across KBS C taper. Suppose to be lower flight. Anyone hit this?
frogeye
Eca, Although I have not played the modus, I have gamed other nippons and liked their responsiveness and the smoothness . I am currently gaming the KBS Proto. For me and my swing at this point they represent the best risk reward ratio I can find until I find something better! They are super tight, smooth, provide a late kick and a soft landing which I like. Big improvement on the PX satin which was my favorite. Certainly a shaft to consider. Eca
Hey F, are the KBS proto the ones that didn't make retail & they released the C-tapers? Btw how do I edit title of post?
frogeye
Eca, Yes the proto are the first version of the C-Taper. I have found the C-Taper to produce a lower ball flight. Out of the two the protos suited me better. Both brilliant shaft and you do gain in length. F
landshark
what would you think of the modus3 from someone used to hitting the 950? i wouldn't mind lowering my flight a tad, and allowing it to penetrate a little better. any distance differences or feel between the two?
