Posted June 21, 201113 yr Hi All, Have any of you have tried the latest concept of irons with with weight plug ala TM MB? What did you notice different. Are there any JDM offering similar concepts and who? Thanks, F
June 22, 201113 yr It's nice the thought of all these adjustables but I scared I'll do my head in if I ventured into this lol. I guess my swing just isn't consistent enough for me to tell if it's equipment adjustment or me that's causing my ballflight when I make a setting change :)
June 22, 201113 yr Author I am surprise no JDM has developed similar concept yet or even improved on it. They are normally always at the forefront of technology innovations.

When it comes to Adjustability in golf clubs Japan is fairly conservative. Of course TM is known best for it but it's something I don't think has stuck in Japan like it has in the U.S. Your totally right though, their tech and other stuff comes out earlier.
June 22, 201113 yr It took a while for a JDM company (Honma) to even make an adjustable loft driver. Of course, when they did it, it was much easier to use. TM is at the forefront in adjustable clubs starting with adjustable weighting in their drivers, and now with their irons. They even have interchangeable face plates for wedges. I'm not sure if they do, but they can even sell non-conforming groove face plates. Adjustability is a nice option, but if you know what your specs are or if you get fitted properly, you really don't need the ajustability.
June 22, 201113 yr Author I did a little digging and have found the following JDM making adjustable bounce on Wedges! Yes adjustable bounce. An interesteing idea but how practical on the golf course! http://www.plazagolf.net/viper_wedge/index.html F

Agree on the practicality of it and also probably requiring more work in cleaning.
