Hi, While I am big on JDM stuff, I find that for FWs, the Tour Edge Exotics are hard to beat. Just put a good JDM shaft that suits you. wmclarenf1
heard nothing but good things about them, what model do you recommend? thinking of something in 16.5 I was on the CB1, then CB2 and now the XCG-3 which is not the latest. Don;t think each upgrade gave me the 20 yards more that TE proclaimed however LOL. I think for each model, they do have a 4W 16.5*. Give them a shot. Duffer19
C, the new Yamaha D or V twin rail is a no brainer. For my handicap and SS, I have the D FW. If you have the higher SS, you can consider V model or the JDM Titleist 910F 17*.

JuanSeries
C...you might wanna try the cleveland fl 3w in 17deg with the miyazaki shaft...it might not be a certified JDM club but it might get the job done.

Better but Still have the same problem. Its quite demanding given the thickness of the face.

Eca
C, I think going the 4w route is really good. I was heading that way until I got the egg. Its just a question of which & what shaft.I I found my holy grail, hope you do too soon. I must admit it's one part if the bag that's hard to fill. Swallow your pride and go with the D FW and it is much easier to hit and launch. I like the D 4w so much and just added a 15* 3w. The stock Yamaha shaft is great for us 'active' seniors. Absolutely no need to change the shaft. I still have the G-Field 4 wood but it is taller face and smaller head like the RC CV Pro series. Spoon- I have had the On OFF Fairway Arms Plus model in the bag for 2 years....an eternity for me. Their 5 wood is 17* and 42 inches in length. 1 degree open. I think as long as any fairway I have hit. Feel is good. Super easy to hit IMO. Bargain now at sub $400....

Duffer19
But is the Arm plus shallow face? I think the regular OnOff fw is shallower than the plus which is similar to the Yamaha V.
stevopagolf
But is the Arm plus shallow face? I think the regular OnOff fw is shallower than the plus which is similar to the Yamaha V. Pretty shallow. The Plus is for the better player....so I would assume shallower. looks pretty shallow http://www.tourspecgolf.com/ONOFF-2010-Plus-Fairway-Arms

The Plus is for the better player....so I would assume shallower. looks pretty shallow http://www.tourspecg...us-Fairway-Arms I think thats exactly the opposite in fw design nowadays. For better players with higher ss, a deeper the face with the CG higher vs. shallower face with lower CG for slower ss or senior players. That's the reason the Epon FWs are more difficult to hit than anything else if one does not have the swing speed.

I love it and it actually makes my egg spoon sit. The ONOFF excels as I can tee off with it as well and the length is perfect for me. As Steve said it feels great! Thanks I will definitely check it out. I was considering a 4wood but sine the loft is 17, I can live with that . T, the plus model looks just as thick as the RC 17/18 though, is the onoff easier to launch because of the higher loft? And not necessarily the face? bogeydog
How about the Srixon Z-star? I hit a 3 wood at the PGA show. Was easy to elevate and didn't balloon in a head wind.
Spoon
I gamed my ping g15 jspec 4 wood and was hitting it Quite well. The shaft was a bit light, will grad to ping center Tom and do a head to head test with the new k15 16* , will Try different combos til I get it right. So far this could be my Only option for now. The g15 4w is one of the easiest woods I have hit, probably even Easier than the egg. Key is the shaft though. I'm curious about The k15. This could be the only usdm piece of equipment in my bag For now.
+TourSpecGolfer
Another one to try is the PRGR id series and not the C version. check it out iD is their new top end line.

I think I will take a break, have spent a fortune on woods and hybrids in the end only The 20 trc hybrid remained. I settled on the k15 ping japan, very very easy to hit And quite happy with this combo.
