DaleUK
Can anyone tell what the 19* and 22* driving irons would replace?? Are there like a 3 and 4 iron??
sandee11
2 and 3 iron ? I think new irons make the loft 2 degree stronger compare the older model, but some of the muscle back model still using the weeker loft....

coops1967
i've the 301's to 4 iron, believe the 4 is at 23 degrees - and then have a 19degree 901 as a blobby iron/pseudo hybrid thing. it's excellent, and a nice 4 degree gap. Note, i have the exact same (steel) shaft in it as the irons... You can replace any iron with a 901 or hybrid with the same loft and not create any silly distance gaps... if you maintain the same shaft. Don't fall in to the ridiculous 'distance' trap with hybrids etc. You're using the different head because it's easier/more forgiving, not to hit it further on a good clean strike. Wishon will tell you this, it's not just me ranting ;-)

Spoon
Actually I game the 302 -3-pw and my 3i is 20deg, my 22 901 goes 10 yards further. Loft for loft the 901s meant to play longer than irons plus shaft is longer and is designed for carry. So the 19, 22, 25 are technically 2,3,4 iron replacements
DaleUK
I've got the 4 iron in my 502's so should I look at the 19 or 22?? I shall have a 3wood go the bag too....not that makes a difference!

jamnguy1
Personal results may vary. I got a chance to hit the 25* and I hit it as far as my 4 iron albeit with higher ball flight and carry. I wonder if they will have a replacement for the 901 soon as it's been around since 2008. Then again, why fix something that's already great. BigEasy
I've played Epon mixed sets for 2 years and have a good idea how far each club hits the ball. Here's my distance for your reference. AF-301 8 iron (38*): 152 yards AF-501 7 iron (34*): 163 yards AF-501 6 iron (30*): 175 yards AF-901 25*: 188 yards (longest iron I carry) Titleist 910H 21: 200 yards TM TP Rescue 17: 215 yards Edited July 20, 2011 by BigEasy

+TourSpecGolfer
Dale the 901's are known for great distance, I've played them a long time with steel and graphite. I think steel was better for me. It's gotta real hot feel off the face, goes a long way. I now days replace a 4i (905CB) with a Srixon #4. Similar loft but the 901 was a lot longer. Looking for a replacement!! Are you saying you're replacing the 19* 910H because it's short? Do you expect more distance from a 19* hybrid when your iron distance is similar to mine? If so, how much? No I sold the 910H..but want something as a 3 iron type..so I thought maybe a 22 Epon, that and I like there stuff!

The 22 would fit the bill As a 3i replacement. Trust memyou won't be disappointed. Whenever My swing is off I will bag mine, rotate it with my 302 3i but the 901 is just easier and longer. When i got my 901 i think Sarint at Golfcraft asked whether i wanted it finished in copper chrome (!) ...... not sure, now - but if you don't ask... or to put it another way, there really isn't any technical reason i can think of why the 901 couldn't be copper finish. Could be a first/unique... coops

They can do it in copper. It has no cavities like the 702. If ever u get that done u would be the first person I know Who would have a copper 901. Go for it
