sandee11
Can anyone explain to me why is jdm drivers have hot face compare to others non jdm drivers? Currently I own jbeam 425 tour and epon 152, they are lOnger than any other drivers I hit, there is only one I can think of can cOme close to the jdm drivers is callaway FT-3 tour. For some reason this driver is really long too, other than the ft-3 tour, nothing come close to those jdm, distance and feel! Can someone explain? Eca
Yea.. Although mine has an explanation as to how its achieving it. If I was to guess? Better QC ie COR right at the Max legal vs Mass produced non JDM may have a tolerance allowed Real Lofts Better shafts on your 425 & 152? It's a guess.. But i will bet that this is more to do with quality than a question of conformity. I had two Senior, one late 50s one early 60s, mid cappers inspecting my driver late in the round today after exclaiming, you cant hit the driver that far! I laughingly asked why? Coz your not tall! I'm 5'4 btw and these 2 guys are at least 6" one with R11 and the other with TM Superquad. I just laughed. Then they proceed to check it. So i happily showed them the print near the hosel "Conforming" then one joking said about the tail, there's an engine in there I bet. I replied.. yup, there's a switch somewhere in the grip but i aint showing ya :) It's quite common now when i randomly ring for a spot and play with folks i havent played with b4. sandee11
E, I did put kaili 70 in the epon before compare to superdeep with kaili 70, at least 15- 20 yards different. I mean I already hit the ball carry 270 average with less than 5 yards roll, now I can carry 10 yards more, and probably 10+ yards roll! Even though epon 152 is higher spin head, but I found it is lower spin than superdeep! Now the 152 with FEX is even better feel and maybe a little longer than kaili 70 and crazy cb46 i installed before the FEX.
+TourSpecGolfer
my guess is that they are just very good designs made with good materials. Both drivers mentioned are also pure designs no fluff or things to tinker with. It must be fun for you to have those two heads they are very different yet both lots of fun. 152 is underrated i think. And your FEX, those are some nice sticks.
gocchin
Just to add: More premium materials More advanced manufacturing ie forged vs cast, lots more attention to hand work ie polishing and welding Right at the limit of COR as E pointed out JDM drivers are not cheap but I always say you pay for what you get and JDM brands know this and put alot of their earnings back into design, manufacturing and research to produce those hot drivers. Yup! Right at the edge of the cor limit.that alone makes a huge difference. As e pointed out real and true lofts. Most usdm brands are off by 1 deg some even two Degrees as the tolerances are not as good.

I haven't Tried the other Ryoma's but the sensation & results I'm getting with Vspec/cb46 will either create more hunger or create fear of changing/trying anything else. Mine is the latter coz iI have used lots of otr drivers & current combo is the only one that can hit the fence on my local range aside from my non - conf TM 360R & it's the most consistent.
