idrive
My playing partner who swears by his Callaway driver hit the Ryoma while we were playing a couple of days a go. He called me begging to play it in a tournament tomorrow. It is so superior to his Cally it's kind of sad.... He said... what I have already said, it may not be the absolute distance champion on flushed shots, But, when you miss the sweet spot it almost doesn't matter. He says there's a difference of at least 30 yards in distance compared to his Cally driver and the ball lands in the fairway, not the rough. I'm going to have to sneak in to his house and arm rob the guy to get it back.... So, the 152 has had it's chance the last couple of days... been waiting to play it by its self instead of side by side. It is longer than the Ryoma. i was consistently 10 yards past my normal landing areas. Almost 20 on a par 5 that I was able to reach in 2 with an iron. I've played that hole a 100 times and never hit an iron on my second shot. Moderately forgiving. Not as forgiving as the Ryoma but it is geared toward the better player looking to work the ball if needed. For the better player that does not need added forgiveness this driver is an absolute dream to hit. Shaft is a Crazy LY-02 Noir. playing at 45" Low to med. trajectory that just keeps going and going and...... then hits the ground and rolls and rolls and..... I can work this driver easily. If you're playing the Ryoma you know it isn't easy to work, it just goes straight (good thing) Feel is excellent, sound just a hair tinny but still very acceptable. I was kinda hoping I wouldn't get the results I did. Going to make it really hard to decide which one to play.... if I ever get the Ryoma back. This combo is the longest I have had the pleasure to play. Probably one of the lowest launching combos I've hit as well. I have not had much luck with the lower launchers but this one is different. The ball just doesn't come down... the wind has almost no effect on it. If you are a fan of the Epon Drivers you will love this one. Can't wait to hit this again tomorrow. The ryoma and the EMS are about the same for me. i think it benefits the slower SS player. and IMHO its still pretty forgiving even though its touted for the better player. idrive
I love(d) my EM-S. Many a driver tried to knock it out of the bag. The Ryoma was the only one able to do so. Tight course, the Ryoma. AF152 everywhere else. The 152 has an almost perfect set up at address.

wmclarenf1
Damnit! I should not have looked in to this thread. I'm still on the 101. Is the 152 or 102 so much better than the 101? i'm a stupid high spin player (swing flaw) and I play my 9.5* Af101 with a DI shaft and I do get some run so anyhead that is higher spinning than the 101 won;t do it for me. I think I'll have to pass on the 152 then. I've found shafts can only help reduce spin that much. If the head is a high spin profile, not much you can do. Will need to get my hands on a 102 demo. sandee11
I am gaming a epon 152 with Quadra FEX 75sx, the feel is soooooo good!my SS is about 115-120+-. I don't find the head is high spin at all, I am pretty High spin player, never really get rolls on the golf course. After playing the epon 152, getting at least 5-10meters rolls.I don even get rolls with TM superdeep 9.5 with Accra se80 stiff combo, which claim to be lowest spin driver from taylormade!! My golfing buddies all gain at least 10-25 meters when the hit the epon152! Is that good!!!!

sandee11
Yeah, have a ilima 60x in it, flies higher thAn my 152 FEX and cb46( used to put the crazy cb46 in the 152), I think the shaft has a lot to do with how much spin produce in these epon driver head. By the way I also tried the cb80 LS 2 7.7 flex in the 152, got really good result but decide to pull it out coz I want to try the FEX, the FEX feels a lot better than the 80ls 2. I agree! Last night I went to range to hit the epon 152 FEX and the jbeam 425 cb46, jbeam is really a STRAIGHT driver. Sometimes I wonder is me or the driver ........is definitely the driver coz when I hit the epon152, is not as straight! Maybe the shaft? I don't know......I am having fun hitting driver again!!feel sad for my other drivers, just sitting there......I m thinking of getting the yamaha tour from supo67, I don't know if I should because I am hitting these two so well and already put 2 drivers in the bag, don't think anyone game 3 driver at the same times!still thinking..... +TourSpecGolfer
the AF152 is a solid setup, soft feel and very forgiving make it a top pick. If spin is your concern Jbeam makes some that while maybe not as forgiving it will fly dead straight with a decent swing. I also like Ryoma's spin attributes as well.
