Was in Tokyo for a few days and had a chance to check out the latest goodies at Golf Messe and Ebisu Golf on their launch monitor. Below are the standouts from my demo session:

-'12 Yamaha Tour V202 w/ BB-6 and BB-7 shaft: Great feel but mid-low flight.

-'12 Yamaha Tour Irons S200: So soft! Felt even softer then my Miuras.. Sole is more on the wider side for a blade...

-Ryoma Vspec: Head feels soft at impact but it looks closed due to the big weighting on the back.

-Crazy shafts: Tried a bunch of them and most felt quite stout to the flex. Didn't really get that "glassy" feeling that people were talking about and at least on the monitor didn't see any difference in distance of dispersion.

-Quadra FEX proto: Actually felt livelier then the Crazy or as the salesmen likes to say, feels more "wet" than Crazy..

-Iomic Black Armour grip felt really nice.

Was looking forward to seeing the Kamui 420 head in person but the two shops didn't have it as I guess it is more of a custom order product.

Great to actually see and try the different toys in person and save some coin...

My next purchase will either be a Yamaha Tour Driver BB-7 or Kamui 420 FEX proto....

You've just have to love the Fire Express!!

really curious about that BB shaft! i hear their 7x is the predecessor of the p9003.

dont know how true that is .

yeah actually im thinking of not selling my fex anymore. i just had to scratch some

itch and try my grail shaft El diamana stinger. the fex proto though will be a tough

shaft to beat!

The BB is definately lower launching than the DI.

The launch monitor at Golf Messe seemed quite accurate not juiced up. I was getting similar numbers to my real world distance.

Compared to the DI, I was getting around 20 yards less carry but made up by much more roll out so overall distance was same.

It played "softer" to the flex.

carry is the name of the game with our soggy fairways this time of the year. BUT the bb sounds like

a great shaft for carving out the wind. i do hope to try a BB7S one of these days. thanks for the feedback.

so did you end up picking up anything?

SOFTER than MIURA!!?? That's quite a statement! If anybody is unhappy with their 2012, let me know!
