supo
had to give this a try.............., lovely graphics white with red flames. stuck a blue perfect pro cord grip on it. very schweet looking X flex. cpm at 268, whgich seems a little on the soft side. but the chaps at crayz did say these are not as stout as their other line. it seem all boron shafts cpm lower than printed , or on differnt measuring devices they give differnt readings, as the diamana stinger comes out a little softer as well. i had this in a head made by solid contacts, which made some heads for crazy a cpl of yrs back. seriously good looking heads as well, very good quality head . they are a smalll tokyo maker, solid contacts used to suply ryo ishikawa with his clubs before he split to yonex the shaft is what id call friendly, very freindly, more so than the diamana 2009 equivalent flex, but on par with the original tour issue form diamana in 2004, the original "stinger" which is a bit softer flex than the one they released to the market in 2009. its very easy to hit. feels very similar to the tour issue diamana. with the boron shafts i dont feel like i have to step on it every shot, i can smooth the shot and get very good distance, unlike the crayz black range in X where i really do have to give it a wallop to get it going. the boron is more of a smoother swingers shaft from what ive noticed so far. the more aggresive guys prob wont like this shaft, i think they will say hmmmm its too sloppy. this suits the more metronomic swinger. rest assured u can still give it some but if ur tempo is like .say sadlowski... then this prob wont suit. if its more like ernie.. i think ull have a field day with this shaft. ive only gamed it twice, but hit it on the range plenty , proper range ,proper balls. ive gone head to head agaisnt the diamana in both stiff and X in all honesty. i couldnt think of a discernable difference between them in feel or performance, except the X in diamana is the more taught of them. my mate hit it as well whos 100mph swinger and the X was definatly too much foir him, nad hes got a very quick release form the top super quick transition. didnt enjoy the result , but liked the feel. these come in 4 flex patterns is it anything out of the ordinary from what the diamana is?? i dont think so. id happily have either one of these. but id think the diamana in X is prob just a bit more taught. its a good shaft form what ive hit so far. im going to put it in a slightly lower * head and see how it goes, the boron shaft ive found go prethy high so in 9 or 9.5* not a problem what so ever. supo
ok reshafted this with the epon 101 9.5* head the 202 gram head. the shaft is x flex so prob 70 gram i ahvnt played this in a mtch before. id mucked around at hte range a lot but go game time so sunday i used it along side the kamui kpx quadra fex 70s back nine. well. im an idiot! this is fantasic.its a differnt feel to the diamana stinger. the shaft itself has a larger circumfrence its meatier than the diamana. had no prob getting it to draw ever so slightly and didnt have to clobber the pants off it. can ease into this club and get perfect results. the extra weight in the head made this a super smooth club. i had one big launch into it and got a perfect draw. really nice easy to hit driver. gotta find some space for this one agn! Spoon
for some reason the diamanas in x can handle any swing speed. its strange my dad is sub 95 i reckon 90mph at best and he was able to hit the diamana x no probs. prob on the heavy side for him but he did not even know it was an x. i tend to hit it lights out due to the flex, i like it jus the way it is but the WHAT IFS are swinging me in the S direction. i think the head im using on last stinger i got is real heavy, the one with the yamaha is perfectly fine. its the former shaft i will use for the Epon 0 whenever its out. nice review on the crazy boron. supo
my buddy hit the stinger x one day i lent him it in the yamaha tour head and he hit it perfectly all lday his SS wouldnt be faster than 95 ish he got it to draw all day. ever so slightly was a pleasure to watch. and hes very mechanical. the stats say the only hting diffent between the s and x is 2 gram everything else exaclty the same. going back to boron, ill game these in mid summer this yr im sure Edited April 2, 2012 by supo67
Spoon
may only be 2 grams but the mind plays tricks and body does self programming when hitting an X and an S. you give two players exactly the same club same specs and same shaft, label one r flex and the other an X and im pretty sure they will swing it differently.
