Ok, say you've bombed your drive down the right side of an unjustifiably long dog leg left, but your ball takes a wicked kick to the right off an undulation on the fairway. Unluckily, you find your ball buried about an inch under some pretty thick rough. There's 180y to the front of the green. Assuming you have a club that you can hit out of deep rough at that length, are you hitting an iron, hybrid, or dare I say it, a fairway wood... or do you lay up?! And if you're confident hitting a hybrid out of deep rough at long yardage, what is it?

Basically, I just want to know what the best 2/3 hybrid is out of the rough, IF there is a good low lofted hybrid out of the rough at all.

By the way, I was looking at the Fourteen 2010 UT-409 utility's sole and thought it might be a contender for those longer shots from the thick stuff.

HI,

I can tell you the EGG 1+ hybrid is great out of the rough and 180Y for the EGG is not an issue. Gotta hit it though but the EGG1+ is pretty much the best for distance and forgiveness for a hybrid for me.

I use me EGG 9 wood type thing, it is just unreal.... Any lie , this thing just gives results....B4 I had this club I'd either have a bash with 4 iron( non starter really) or lay up!

think id have bash with 7 iron and try to chip the next one close

if its down low in the grass DEF an iron , if its playable rough yea a utes perect

if i can only see less than half of the ball, steep swing 7i to get it out as its almost impossible to do that with hybrids, no matter what loft.

At 180yds this is what I use.

Haven't really found a lie I can't hit it from with this club. I think the confidence to do so

makes a difference as well.
