Got my new Yamaha V Tour Irons..

They arrived today (thanks Tario!). Shafted with DG S200.

Took a seven iron and did back to back test against my Epons with Nippon Modus shafts.

Did not like the DG shaft (never tried them before). Also, my Epons are individually swing weighted whereas the Y's are all D2.

The feel of the Yamaha heads however felt great and I think with the Nippon Modus will simply be awesome :tsg_smilie_smile2: .

Happy Days

I finally have put some good weather time on mine. The best yet from Yamaha. So much more forgiving than previous models. My miss is towards the toe. Really no distance loss. When I have some time I will update my original review.

What shafts did you decide on pairing them with?

Still have the NS950s stiff. Have the 7I with a UST Mamiya IS900 graphite stiff. Nice shaft but not ready to change yet.

I play them with the Shimada K's Tour in S flex (SS 105mph) and they simply feel amazing. I would highly recommend these shafts. Perhaps Stew could help you with further information on the TT Monaco's or so.

Hey FatMan - I had my driver built by Goodsie - what a great clubbuilder and nice person I must say!

apart from tour issue shafts or what ever thecompanies call these things..

the ks shimada i reckon are fantastic.

i built one of , if not the best buids with the miurism /shiamda a yr or so ago. and played these in horrendous condition on brutal links in oz, and i really wouldnt want to play anything else out there.

the NS 1150 and the superpeening are also fabulous shafts ,for totally opposite reasons.

ns 1150 high nad dop dead. no wind about?

not much better than these shafts

horrible conds, NS blue top dawg.

all round playeverywhere in all conds,,

shimada ill take.

or maybe the modus now, but the shiamda are lower.

the shimada suit the yamaha better , iahd a cpl of NBS protos in the 7 iron forst and the shaimada i just liked the flight better.

damn good feel in the kick too.

monacco are a differnt animal , they are non retail l release (aparently, they seem to be everywhere!)

shimada,,NS1150--Ns blue.... jee thats some good steel

((for stronger swinger))

Z,

G is the man! He certainly has worked his magic on my clubs! It's a big plus that he's a very nice guy. He's been more than patient with dealing with my endless pestering questions.

BTW, Love your avatar!! Goodsie has mine under high security lockdown until I figure out what to shaft them with.

Great choice! I love the consistent soft feel of these heads. I think a higher swing weight or even individually weighted option brings out the most in feel:)

F,

Thank you for the compliment. I really love the looks of my new irons and had to share them with all the TSG'ers out there. Well, Goodsie has that magical touch with building clubs - full stop.
