Spoon
chaps using a yonex 15* ezone with a ngs machline 7080s. prefer this over any other shaft from GD i have tried including the DI/DJ id love a stinger in it but what a waste. ive considered F7M2 but dont like the crisp feel of the oziks fm series thinking Fubuki alpha ax. im a cheapskate with wood shafts so quadra, crazy are out of the question. fwiw current shaft is perfect, nice friendly and long. just getting that itch
supo
ok. so no quadra FW , think u might like that puppy! price is good o n these now. if u dont like the crisp F7 range then u prob wount like the fubuki either id think. ahhhhhh forgot,....., the kaili is THE best 2nd tier shaft especially in a fairway its the exact specs of the stinger without the boron i got 4 f these in yamaha tour heads 3w and 5w can not go wrong with these shafts. beautiful to hit and play. feel better than the GD i think. of th eGD p9003x in a fw is awsome man, heavy thumping great shaft diamna thump for utes! idrive
Probably second the Kai'li shaft. Old PT series might work. I'm still a big GD-QT fan for FW's
Duffer19
I think the best FW shaft would be shafts that designed specially for FW. C, you should take a serious look at Machline FW and also the GD SF line. I, too, have tried all the cut down driver shafts without too much success. If you want to go cheap, you should try the Geotech XDB 65FW. They are 50T even.
Vegaman
The Superio FW shaft! Ha ha, i know I shouldn't mention it here, but it's superb for me in a 3 wood, and everybody that ever tried it thinks the same. The latest version of their FW is 40T (apparently, ha ha) and is called the Mugio FW. Weight is 78 grams if I remember correctly. Can be had for not too much cash too! Take a chance maybe? Spoon
I lovethe machine shafts just a little boring for me. I like the qt but it has way too much spin for of the tee Use for me. Il check the Kai li out
wmclarenf1
GD Tour AD SF?
ant
fubuki alpha ax is great, had it in my 3w for awhile now. very stable, very tight, very straight. if it weighted 20+g more would have been ideal and no ugly lead tape to spoil the shaft look. be careful with flex and tipping tho. if you like alot of feel in your shafts go one flex softer or dont tip it at all. Blader-X
GD Tour AD SF? The GD SF shaft is one that has not gottem much play here, but I've got that in my RC 17 uitility and its THE perfect shaft in that setup. Awesome feel, very, very tight dispersion and as much length as I need. Flight is spot on, not high nor low. Torque numbers are low for this shaft and its not at all expensive. I really can't speak highly enough of it. Yes mine's in a utility but this utility is 17 degrees and its length is at a finished 42 inches. So in essence while its a utility its got a lot of fairway wood character in it as well. Nice thing about it is the flight. The only other thing that I can add is the P9003x like supo67 suggested. That in a fairway wood is even better IMO than in a driver. It really works there. Good luck with the search
supo
GD doesnt really get any airtime part form the tour AD di bec of tiger. prob the most popular FW shaft i see, and is very very nice /easy to play is the PT . black with blue bands. ive got a set of them in my RC 304p and they actually played better in them than a cpl of rodddio protos i out in, easier to play. these shafts are HUGE here, they are in so many fairways as the stock up grade offering. yet no one has a clue. i really dont think GD does a good enought job marketing thier wares to the world ,esp as tiger plays thier shaft now. GD arnt the uber-schlokken super exxy ultra top end of the market , they arnt walk away cheap, either ,but really the amount of thier shafts in clubs here i think outweighs everyone else by a long long way. it seems every 3rd club here has a GD shaft in it. if it aint DI its gets nooooooooooooooooo love
