Posted April 17, 201212 yr comment_178261 Can anyone describe the differences between the Yururi Tour and Raw wedges? Need to get a set of wedges and think I have come down to these two but not sure what the differences are, besides the loft options...
April 17, 201212 yr comment_178269 The Tour has a bit less offset and a different sole grind that makes it easier to open the face up. The top line is slightly thiner and more rounded and the Tour doesn't have that RAW finish.
April 17, 201212 yr comment_178285 I totally agree with TourSpecGolfer. But i like to add about the feel. I found that the raw felt softer and the groove a bit more agresive. I vote for the raw. Lol
April 17, 201212 yr comment_178287 I have both Raw and Tour. I would say both are very good. Tour is more durable. Raw produces super crazy back spin. Raw felt more soft than the tour too.
April 18, 201212 yr comment_178314 Raw > tour. Without a doubt. Yes, it will shred the ball. Your shots will stop on a time or more, and it feels better than anything else I've hit. Ever.
April 18, 201212 yr comment_178317 Wow, I own a set of the tours and didn't think anything would eat a ball more than they do! (Gold's Factory wedges don't count) Good luck, can't lose either way. What shaft is everybody using? Edited April 18, 201212 yr by idrive
April 18, 201212 yr comment_178351 i wanted a hi-rev but also wanted to keep the satin look throughout my set so i'm using kbs c-taper 8 iron shafts butt cut to length for the same effect.
April 18, 201212 yr Author comment_178357 Is the Raw conforming or is it only the Tour that has an option?
April 19, 201212 yr comment_178366 Is the Raw conforming or is it only the Tour that has an option? The Gekku Raws are non-conforming only. Shreds & spins the ball like crazy. Just had my first round with them earlier. May be better for a sweeper or picker of the ball.
April 20, 201212 yr comment_178525 The tour is very versatile and great for being creative around the greens ( great from sand too) The raw spins like crazy. The raw eats up golf balls like no other. If you have higher swing speeds the raw can spin way too much with full shots.

Many of the greens on my home course are sloped uphill front to back. So with a wedge with too much back spin I had a hard time keeping the ball on the green. With the current Maruman KS Zero I am using, not enough spin is getting generated. I have gotten used to that and adjusted flights/distance accordingly but would like to get back to being able to stop the ball from 125 yds and in.
