panicmotion
not sure if this should go into this forum or another. i didn't want to tack it to the end of my sale just in case none of you guys were interested in it. the club has sold but now i'm having issues with shipping and want to see if any of you have experience. i live in the US and the buyer lives in australia and he's going to pay actual shipping. i've done some online quotes... fedex: $250 ups: $185 usps would be a great deal but it seems they don't accept anything longer than 42". it's a driver so the box i'm using is 47". did a test with a 42" box and the shipping was very reasonable. around $60. my brother suggested just bringing into the post office and seeing if they'd let it slide. have any of you every shipped a driver to australia at a reasonable price? if so, which carrier did you use? Spoon
Yes I have.. Remove the head cover and just use bubble wrap.. Trim the box end to the minimum and just stuff the head cover I'm sure it would be 45-46. I use USPS ems all the time no probs Bring it and hopefully they slide.. FatMan
On USPS, each country has it's own restrictions depending on the shipping method. Go online to their site & check alternatives to Priority Mail that will accept longer packages.
swisstrader
Just walk into your local USPS place and bring the box all ready to go and say "ship it"!. I've learned that what they say on the website and what they'll do at the local post office are two separate things. I know my local postal service guys and they bend the "rules" for me all the time. Just remember to insure that sucker!
idrive
As a last resort - you can check with the buyer to see if it's alright to pull the shaft and ship. takes 4-5" of the length, that way it makes size restrictions.
panicmotion
thanks for the tips guys. i'm gonna try packaging and going to the post office and just telling them to ship it.
panicmotion
uggh, the usps denied me. the buyer requested i separate head and shaft. do you guys have any idea how long a shaft is on a club that is 45.5" in finished length? would i be able to fit it in a box that's 42" long and maybe 5x5 square? bogeydog
This is a problem shipping to Australia from the US. There isn't an easy method. I don't think even pulling the shaft will work.
idrive
It will fit in a 42" box. Put shaft in on angle..... box must be sturdy!!!!!!!
