Ok, so like many here, when Epon announced the Zero I was intrigued. Even before I knew details I wanted it and ordered it. I am impulsive - especially when it comes to highly skilled and crafted pieces of equipment (just ask my wife :tsg_smiley_sun: ). It's a bonus that the Epon Zero is indeed a work of art.

It's been quite a wait, but today the courier arrived with a long brown box saying Epon on it. Inside, the Zero had been lovingly packed with a spec sheet and letter - nice touch.

I specified the Crazy Black CB50 and Iomic grip and these have complimented the head - it simply looks awesome - if looks could kill - this is the daddy. I am certainly going to feel very confident standing on the T, looking down at this weapon!

So, later today when the sun is not so high and the temprature a little lower, I will venture out to see if my swing can grace the majesty of this awesome driver. I will be back to let you know.

Photo attached to indicate how great it looks.

not bad at all but as we got to know each other, i found her to be

too demanding, the rest is history.

I like the inclusion of a spec sheet. It's .like a callenge to measure and see if the product delivered is different in spec from the product ordered. That's a plus for Epon confidence. Did the letter have anything interesting ?

Cannot comment on the Epon as I've never seen them other than from afar.

Since all Epon clubs are built specifically for each customer., they always include a spec sheet with a record of those specs.

In C's case above it was (hope you don't mind me saying C).

Epon Zero 10.5*

Crazy Black 50 7.4 - flex closer to 7.2

Iomic Sticky 1.8 Black/Yellow Cap Round

45.25"

D1.5

Epon AF202 HT

Crazy Black FW80 7.4

Iomic Sticky 1.8 Black/Yellow Cap Round

43.00"

D2

They also note things like the face angle and of course for Epon all specs are real specs.

Well, its been an interesting introduction.

Hit a few balls on the range and compared against the Yam with Diam X shaft. Then went and played 9 holes. Certainly need more time but my initial impressions are positive:

- It's fantastic to look at at address - just inspires confidence

- it's a new shaft as well as a new head to get to know, but I think the Crazy shaft in this spec is a good match for me with this head

- The feeling off the face comes across harsh with no give BUTTTTTTTT for whatever reason the results I found were forgiving - I did not pure one drive but they all found the fairway or first cut of rough

- Distance (carry), given i'm not dialed in yet is okish - on the range ball carried 250ish into a moderate head wind, BUTTTTTT roll - oh my goodness does the ball roll, and roll and roll - not seen anything like it (playing with ProV1 too).

- Ball flight - you can visibly see why it's called the ZERO! It's like the ball is a bullet piercing the air (for me with a good arc) and then dropping and rolling forward.

So, yes, I do need to spend more time with her and I understand why people have made the comments they have. Yes, the head does feel harsh but the results showed there is forgiveness. I was not swinging well today but the ball was always in play :tsg_smilie_smile2: .

As an aside, the 3 wood was simply astonishing - long and straight. I thought the Yam inpress was great, but this is another notch up!
