pk923
Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Where to begin? What sort of information do u need? Very little experience on putter modification. Never adjust anything other than changing the grip. That experience show me that minor swing changes greatly affect the speed of putter. When I try to increase head weight, my putting stroke start to curve. With all the modification that gold factory have to offer, this is going to be a long research. swisstrader
Very simple solution for me around custom putters was going with the Edel fitting system. Just completed my fitting last night and it was truly eye opening. First ever putter fitting for me, but I was blown away by the whole process and learned a ton about putter loft, weight, alignment, my swing, etc. The fitting is similar to a driver fitting, but much more precise with lasers and a lot of fine tuning. First is alignment fitting, followed by a fitting for distance and then a few (not a lot) of choices around design of the putter. They do almost nothing to change your putting stroke...it's all about changing your equipment to fit your stroke and to get your alignment dead on. The whole deal takes about an hour and a half with switching up different styles for head, neck, alignment aids on head, dropping in and out different weights, etc. Edel is also big on round grips which felt a bit weird at first, but when I started to line everything up dead center, I quickly forgot about the grip. I will say that their putters are not works of art like some putters out there, but I'm less interested in something that looks pretty vs drops putts. Money well spent
stevopagolf
Swisstrader- Where did you have the fitting done? Is there a cost for the fitting or is that included in the price of the putter? Edited May 25, 2012 by stevopagolf

Novo Golf in Tappan NY...Bill is the real deal there and yes, cost of fitting included. Bill spent a full hour and a half just tweaking, tweaking, tweaking until he/we got it right

Duffer19
Definitely not the first-too busy. Both 2nd and last one are fine with the exception of the cigar.

swisstrader
Last one is Rich Beem's putter...choice now is between two and three. Second one is more classic Edel. If I went with Beem's putter would get a martini glass vs the four leaf clover:) Edited May 25, 2012 by swisstrader
potuna
I'd go with not busy but that's me. My ex pro has one and he loves it, there fitting seems to make sense to me. I play fitted Bettinardi's and couldn't be happier.
swisstrader
Got my Edel last night. Too late to take it to the practice green so test drove it on my fitters astro turf putting green. Hit an amazing 10 out of 10 putts from about 8-10 feet. Hopefully will translate to the course and assumes I can read greens, but I was amazed at the accuracy. swisstrader
Putter feel is certainly different from my Miura 350, but not in a bad way. Played two rounds with the putter this weekend and day one was meh, day two much better...just like any other gear I have it usually takes 2-3 weeks for me to decide its working for me or otherwise and thusfar I'm liking what I'm seeing. Also digging the interchangeable weight set which had me switching out the weights to heavier based on the fact that the greens were lightening fast. Also liking the pixls on the face of the putter which gives it a bit softer without being mushy feel. In the end, I went for a cleaner look vs something a bit busy or goofy on the face. zwan
very nice indeed! What's the head weight again?
swisstrader
the cool thing about the putter is that it has 3 variable weights that are quick and easy to pop in and out and range from 7-21g, so putter ranges from 314 to 384 grams. For example, I was on the practice green on Sunday, realized the greens were wicked quick, so in about 30 secs popped out lighter weight and went for 21 grams. Did not have to change my putting stroke while thinking about speed of greens. Worked like a charm
ant
they look pretty cool to me. would probably be more concerned with how it looks at address than face and sole looks anyway. please post back on long term results.

Thus far results have been mixed but the one thing I've learned about myself and new gear is that I have to give it at least 3 weeks or so to either earn it's place in my bag or on BST. I was all ready to toss my Epon 151 driver, until I realized my swing was just a bit meh and a few tweaks to my swing had me busting everything dead straight. Probably goes double for a putter, meaning I'm going to have to give it time. Also playing with the weights a bit on the greens I think screwed me up for a couple rounds. All that being said, I love the feel of the putter and I have dropped a few birds in just the last couple times out, just need to get my distance control with the Edel. The logic for me initially was that heavier was best for slower greens in that more mass behind the heavier putter would equate with hitting the ball further, but the general wisdom is that heavier has you pull the putter back less and through and therefore more control on faster greens. In the end it's more a matter, like many things golf related, of personal taste. Edited June 12, 2012 by swisstrader
