Henry
I have been playing with my Tourstage GR forged irons for a few weeks now. Got them in standard NP SR 950 flex. My 5 iron is 1/2 inch shorter than normal. I play to a 10 handicap. Head size is slightly smaller than my previous JPX E600 forges irons and slightly less offset as well. Top line not too thin, not too wide. If you consider these game improvement irons, I think they would be considered more leaning toward the athlete irons (at least more than the JPX models). I was a little nervous when I opened the box as they "looked" a little more difficult to hit compared to my JPX irons. However, I am happy to say these clubs are extremely easy to hit. They are "automatic." You hit and they go straight. Off center shots still perform well with no measurable distance loss. "Soft" feeling is wonderful when you hit these irons. Still feels "soft" on mis**ts and for some reason, they feel softer compared to my JPX model. I made these 1 degree stronger to make up for the shorter shaft length and distance is great. I hit my 5 iron about 170 which is a few yards longer compared to JPX. Very pleased with these irons and I would highly recommend them to anyone. xerobound
Nice review. The one thing that stands out about the GR irons was how good the mis**ts felt! Its not harsh at all, also it cuts through the thicker grass very well. Better than most "game improvement" irons I've seen. "Automatic Irons" are a great way to describe them.
