604_skyline
looking for some iron shaft advice, been a long time dg x100 person. looking at either the nippon sp blue or nippon tour modus 3, but then shimada caught my eye, in japan its the k's tour? but they have different shafts for north america/europe is that correct? pro and or tour? looking for everyones thoughts, thanks. **should add the crazy sports target tour 120 (even though they are a little on the excessive price wise for a steel iron shaft) Edited July 6, 2012 by 604_skyline
Spoon
depends what you are looking for. i like the shimadas but i prefer the nippons better. i think the sp blues will be similar in flight to the x100 but feel less harsh. the nippon modus3 tx is also very good. modus 3 is actually my favorite shaft. yes in japan shimada is KS. 604_skyline
spoon, thanks for the quick rundown, and thats the main think, I do not really know what I am looking for, I have only even know true temper and their dynamic gold line, x100, s400, etc. the less weight in all the shaft I mentioned is what has my most concern... the modus 3 in tour x is approx.126 grams is that correct? I do not know if I have the swing speed for the tour x as opposed to the regular x (wich is a big weight difference if you ask me at 6grams coming in at only 120grams) modus 3 is actually nippons north american offering as well correct? kinda like the whole shimada thing, but is it safe to assume the modus 3 is made in japan then shipped over to the US? sorry for all the questions, this is a pretty big change though for me in terms of going something totally new! X flex in modus is more like a s300. the s flex on the other hand is softer than an s300 so you get the picture? I think youl be ok with the Tx. mygreenaliem
gentlemen (spoon and supo67) i thank you for the quick lesson and info regarding the shafts. i think the modus tx is the way to go! although i really wish i could hear some thoughts from those that have hit the crazy sports target tour 120 shafts!! I have gone from Modus 3 to crazy tour. Both are excellent shafts but I am sticking with the crazy tours as I find I can "feel" where the shaft is in my swing, they have a tighter dispersion, am getting more distance, can flight the ball well - all of which gives me more confidence. I was playing the stiff in Modus and as I got better I found the shaft too light. The x might be ok but I am a crazy, crazy freakin fan!
