vertigo88
Hi all, I am looking to replace my Miura's for the next season. I was wondering if anyone has hit the forged TVDs and can compare them to Miura and yururi wedges Thanks

xerobound
Great wedges to look at! :) I feel that the TVD grind works best in firmer conditions compared to the Miura and Yururi wedges. It is however the firmer in feel than the other two. I still love the TVD for how it sets up and versatile it is in funky grass around the greens. It gets a good amount of spin and is very predictable. Miura wedges have the softer feel out of the three. I always liked how soft they felt, but for some reason they just don't click with me so I never had a full time Miura gamer They are good all around, but didn't have one specific thing that stood out to me. One thing I noticed about the Miura wedges are that they do not spin as much as other wedges, BUT the ball comes off very soft off the face and is very predictable- like tossing a ball with your hands. The Yururi on the other hand, may not feel as soft as the Miura wedges, but they will beat out any wedge in spin and reaction time on the greens. I have never hit a wedge that I was able to spin more than the Yururis. I think that some things to consider are what type of conditions you will be playing in and how you like to attack the pins around the greens. I hope this helps a bit. RIduffer
X, Have you ever tried the Chikara wedges? Would be curious on a spin comparison between the Yururi and Chikara wedges...
+TourSpecGolfer
I Love the JDM Vokeys but they just got booted for they new Crazy Toyoshimas! I agree with Tats comments, Miura felt amazing but lacked spin and same lofts lacked distance. Yururi feels great too in raw, tons of spin, Chikara makes a decent wedge but I haven't hit it for years.

I have actually. I know they shred balls close to what Yururis can do, but just never got around liking them in terms of feel. But thanks for the recommendation! I have 52 and 60 in Miura, but the 57 in Yururi. The difference in performance between the two companies is huge. The reason I put Titleist on that is because if PGA Tour Professionals aren't using Yururi or Miura, why should I? [Correct me if I am wrong if there are JPGA people that do, and I know KJ Choi and Nick Price also use/used Miura]
RICE
PGA Tour used Titleist because they get pay to used them.
idrive
IMO there are wedges for wedge players.. and there are wedges.... If you are good with a wedge, can make it do what ever you want, the Yururi's are just tough to beat. You can do anything with them. They work best for players. Guys that know how to make a wedge sing. If you are looking for a little help, wedge play isn't your strength, the Vokey forged might be a better choice. Perhaps a bit more point and shoot. There are very very few PGA tour players that are not paid to play what they play.... Having said that most of these guys could chip with a hockey stick and it wouldn't matter. The tour van customizes their wedges for them and their style of play. Playing what they play is all about marketing and not necessarily what's best for you.
