Posted October 29, 201212 yr comment_190118 Have only heard about their wedges. Anyone played and still playing these irons? How are these compared to say Epon 301s in terms of hosel offset, top line and sole width? Forgiveness?
October 29, 201212 yr comment_190119 I have a set..... I'll post a few comparison pics... very solid, very forgiving. Perhaps the most forgiving small cavity back I've played.

HAve you played the Epon 301 or Technica Pro Is? If yes, can you share more on how these play vis-a-vis the Epons please.
October 30, 201212 yr comment_190168 OT but I was having this mental image of someone at my small town club asking me what irons I was playing... Them: "What kinda irons ya playin THIS week?" Me: "Three Luck Sky Dream Jump!" Them: "Matt...Tourette's, like JDM addiction...is a treatable condition. Seek help."
November 1, 201212 yr comment_190441 The SDJ's are the most forgiving, small players cavity back I've ever played. IMO the only place they are not as good as some is on hard pan. The more lush the better. First up is the comparison 8 iron AF-301. My Copper "idrive" irons. Pictures don't show how much narrower the sole is on the SDJ You can however really see the difference in the grind.... The depth of the cavity back varies from iron to iron More shallow face and toe, toe is more rounded Offset is very similar Not a more solid club anywhere, bar none.
November 1, 201212 yr comment_190450 wow. terrible name, GREAT looking iron. ALMOST make the coppers look average. you game them over the epons? heard good things about the wedges also.
November 1, 201212 yr comment_190452 wow. terrible name, GREAT looking iron. ALMOST make the coppers look average. you game them over the epons? heard good things about the wedges also. When I know I'm going to be playing in really soft conditions I do play them. The copper 301's don't go out very often..... maybe 5 times a year. And not because there;s anything wrong with them. If I'm playing really hard (firm) greens these do come out. Currently in LOVE with and playing the Personals
November 1, 201212 yr comment_190464 Serious? Havent heard anything but good about them - want to see them in person as everyone says much nicer in real life. And I dont mind how they look in the pix!! Seriously nice sticks. How'd they go vs the 301s? Edited November 1, 201212 yr by bigrin
November 2, 201212 yr comment_190469 I've trouble trying to say the name in one breath..... especially after a few beers...
November 2, 201212 yr Author comment_190471 Thanks for the pics idrive! The SDJs look to have a lot more leading and trailing edge relief. Do they look like they have more bounce on them? I still really like my Epon Technica Pro Is which I have 2 sets of (copper and satin chrome) but if there are any sets really tempt me, it would be these SDJs or the Romaro H irons. Thanks again. I will need to try to find a place to try the SDJs.

May 18, 201311 yr Author comment_208117 Anyone have a set of these irons they are looking to get rid of?
June 2, 201311 yr Author comment_208705 Found a set of these and have shafted them with the Quadra 752i shafts tipped 1/2 inch and hard stepped once. Feels softer flex than the 652i SR shafts hardstepped once. Also got in a pair of SDJ TB pair of wedges bent to 50 and 59*. Will see how these go. May have to order in a 56 to be bent to 54 TB if these go well.
June 2, 201311 yr comment_208707 I remember being a bit fascinated with these irons a cuople of years ago. Look really good. Had forgotten about them actually, probably pretty rare these days.
