Posted November 2, 201212 yr Anyone played there recently? I can only put in 3 rounds and am booked on to play Black Mountain, Banyan Golf Club and Springfield. Are there any must play courses that I should replace any of these 3 with? Also wanted to play Alpine in Bangkok as my home club has an affiliation with but as I am a solo golfer this trip, they won;t let me on nor pair me with anyone else. :-( as I heard this is the best course in Bangkok. Thank in advance.
November 2, 201212 yr Have not been back to Hua Hin for many years but do know that Black Mountain is rated the top there. Alpine is definitely a must play in Bangkok and I am sure there are a few TSGers in the BKK area to join you (perhaps I can find an excuse to fly over ). Normally resort courses would pair you up with others but not premiere golf course/private like Alpine. Besides Thaniya, there is always Golf Craft but I honestly do not find clubs particularly cheap in Thailand but they do have a wide selection.

November 2, 201212 yr I am in Hong Kong at the present time. I think it is about a short tsxi ride or 15 minutes walk from BTS station. Since i am not from Thailand, dont want to give you wrong info. There are a few guys here from BKK.

HAve you played Thai Golf course (may have gotten the name wrong but supposed to be not too far out of BKK)? Also, any other golf shops you can recommend for boutique JDM stuff apart from Thaniya? I know of Golf Craft but read they only do Epon. Looking for Ryoma, Romaro, Kamui, SDJ etc. New ok, used even better :-)

Another must try is the Sea Pine Golf Course also known as Suan Son Pradipat Army Golf Course. It is the newest golf course in Hua Hin located right on the beach. Alpine is one of the best courses in Bangkok. When do you plan to travel and how logn will you stay in Thailand?

Amongst the 5 you listed, which 3 would you force recommend? Also, for Alpine, they won;t pair me up despite being a reciprocal member. Keep hearing a lot about it and Thai Country Club.
November 6, 201212 yr Keep the three courses you have and play the other two next time. Thai Country Club is tops in terms of facilities and service as it is managed by the six star Peninsula Hotel group. Will consider to join you on a weekday at Alpine if you can bring a guest as a reciprocal member. If you have more time in Bangkok Amata Spring Country Club is also a must play course.

November 23, 201212 yr Author If ever anyone is in Hua hin, Black Mountain is an absolute must as is Banyan but in that order. Had some great stuff as well. If I did not just oick up a Ryoma already, there was a D1 10.5, 2 Premias (8.5 and 10.5) and a V-Spec 9.5. Had Romaro 460HX heads as well as a set of Romaro H irons and raw wedges. Also Kamui irons and KP-X pro heads new and used. Crazy accessories were also available. Great trip all in all and thanks to all for the tips on Hua Hin golf courses. Each year we either go West or East for out Holiday!! This Year we tour Cal and next it's out there... It's so a nice place !! Can't wait!

That will be the end part of the rainy season where sometmes green fee rates are cut by 2/3 as the chance of being rained out is very high! When there, Black Mountain and Banyan are must plays! If time for one only then BM is tops! Apparently, its rated Number one in all of Thailand now and try to play the afternoon session... the last few holes with the sun setting, golf really becomes secondary with the view.

January 3, 201312 yr Author I have 3 nights in BK... You going alone or with family? A single man in Bangkok can get very busy. Play Apline, Thai Country club, spend half a day at Thaniya, Emporium or something like that has a large golf section wit great Japan Oakley stuff, go for massages and whatever else you want. I love Bangkok even when I go with family!
