rb2235
I had to buy a set solely based on how they looked. I received them a couple weeks ago(5-PW Ray H and a Ray V 4i all with DG S200) and with unseasonably warm weather here in Wisconsin was able to get 5 rounds in over the last 7 days. I have played the orginal Vg3s for 18 months and have tried several sets over that time period but none were able to replace the Vgs...Miura CB1007, Tourstage 901s, Scratch SB1s; Miura 501s to name a few My expectations were they would feel great but the forgiveness factor would drop off greatly vs the Titleist and due to the strong VG3 lofts I expected to have to take an extra club. The honeymoon round is always great it seems but was still surprised by the ease the Hs performed in terms of forgiveness and the distance. I took the same clubs I would with the Vg3s and the distance was similar. The 4th round was a money match and they held up wonderfully(lost money but that was due to giving up too many damn strokes to the bandits I play with) They frame the ball beautifully. Shockingly forgiving. Great turf interaction. Mediocre swings produce playable shots. Solid swings are grandly rewarded. Feel is crisp but not clicky. All the workability you would want or need. Had never played s200s and very impressed...no reshaft will be needed. Vg3s sold over the weekend which is the biggest surprise to me and my buddies but just love the Hs and unlike most of you I only keep one set(deal with my wife). bruinduke
Nice review R. It says a lot that you moved old faithful vg3. Not very often that playability matches looks, and the H looks very nice!
chiromikey
it's impressive to me that these won out over vg3's. i would peg these as players cavities more than the vg3's...which would seem to make them less forgiving. but your review has me thinking these h's have it all! potuna
I had a chance to try the H's, loved the looks and feel. They are not in the same forgiveness class as VG3s, Onoff forged or Romaro Vs all of which I have or have had. Think about 180 carry over water with cash on the line, yeah if you're a player, H's, if your less than that any of the others would be better. rb2235
The vg3s are more forgiving but not by a huge margin.

Potuna and Yourpressed, How would you rate the H forgiveness and softness wise over the Epon 301s if you have played these?
idrive
These must be good..... I wondered why the VG3's were for sale.... Now I know I've had a set of heads on order for 2+ weeks, still have another week. Was going to put Modus3 in them....

clevelaand
How happy am I that Potuna did not want to keep his RomaRo Ray H irons, now I have them and love them. Incredible looking irons with great feel. I will keep these for a very long time. Thanks Pete................... Now, does anyone have a RomaRo driver they will trade for my Epon 101 IP black driver or any wedges? Doc
xerobound
Nice write up. Romaro has been impressive with all the quality irons they produce. Love their pure appearance with great forgiveness. Romaro is on top of my list for irons to play for 2013 season. :)

I have seen these heads (not hit them though) in person and they look very very nice.

nudgeegolf
Hmmmm I bought a set of Romaro Vs here in BST and I loooove them but after reading this review and getting other feedback, I am thinking I need to get me a set of these Hs!! wmclarenf1
I just noticed on some Japanese sites that for the H irons, some have a white 4 pointed star on the back towards the heel and some don't. Are there 2 different types of H models?
potuna
I have not played the 301s but Pete probably has I have not played Epon 301s, I had Muira 301s.
RIduffer
i'd love to see a comparison of the h vs the blades not only in terms of forgiveness but trajectory and distance as well... Other than T, Chris, or Xero I doubt that comparison will come out. Unless you get a couple of guys that each have a respective set. I hit the H one shot on course and if the traj of the H and V are similar than it is a materially more arching ball flight than the blades. Feel between the V and the blade is similar but forgiveness is miles different. Was having an off day with the irons when I hit it and still managed to get close with the V... EdGolf
Good to see RomaRo becoming more popular, especially with their new line up. Just a year ago nobody would have even think or mention them. :-)

wmclarenf1
I was wondering too. Is the star on all the heads guys or just certain irons? On some o the Japanese sites, I see them on all and on other sites on none. Even on Romaro's site, it seems there is one with a star and one without... http://www.romaro-sports.com/product/clubs/iron/ray_H/index.html Edited December 7, 2012 by wmclarenf1
