supo
gents.., after a long conversation with my club builder last night where aseries of head nods, shakes , hand waves and general wild gesticulations abound......................... some how we mange to get things spot on every time. so. aerotechs 125s are going into my tourstage 701 heads in palce of DG x100s and if/when they are nice and playable the same change is destined for the epon personals. the reason is thus............... after playing both the yamaha tours and personals over the weekeknd the yamahs are CLEARLY flying 10 ish yards longer per iron.............. now this has never woried me before but its cleart as day. why hit a 5 when i can hit a 6 ? makes sense right? in summer the differnce isnt so bad. the "normal" flight is close to fine but again whe nthe differnce in lofts is 1* then 10 yards is a heck of a lot right? the personals are close to the perfect irons set for me. if ididnt hit another set id be saying they are. but after hitting another top ender i realsie there apples and oranges. if i can eek 10 yards out of an iron with the same loft then im a goose if i dont do it. the shafts im repalcing in the epons are very very sturdy very straight shooters form NS. they are prob the mack daddies of striaght shootedness u can get. but the coupling of weight and low launch makes them a bit short. even with the very best monaccos im finding the personals are short not bad and i wont be changing them over bec in summer it makes no differnce at all and ull have to take these out of my "cold dead hands" if u want them from about may onwards........ but when tis NOT may.. then the distance increasew from the carbon shafts has gotta be considered.... im testing a 6 iron tomorrow with the tourstage 701s so ill be able to expand on it later. chiromikey
i know you've disliked this suggestion in the past, but bending 2* stronger in loft should also give you that extra distance. but i know (and admire) your m/o and you can't help trying something new. ;)

EdGolf
But Stew....bending them we will never know how the Aerotech will work in this head?? Besides, you have em shafts sitting ideal anyway so make use of em lol
swisstrader
Same thing for me...I'm an aerotech fanboy. Have had them in everything I play EXCEPT my Personals. Only reason is they came with the Monacos so I figured I would give them a shot. Will have to wait a couple months for the winter thaw to test. MoreBeerBetterGolf
There's at least 2 of us with Aerotechs in the Personals but there's snow on the ground and generally miserable weather so I haven't been able to play and the other guy with them has hit them just once I believe. Good old upper Midwest winter.
