vanla01
Mmmm I dunno! The Onoff's were longer, at least a club, iron per iron BUT these new Yamahas play about 3/8" shorter! The Onoff's have the edge on feel but be the smallest of margins( not had a lot of game time with the Yamahas due to poor weather and me been busy busy) That all said there's just something about the Yamaha Heads that make you wanna smile, hit them and play good Golf! I can hit more types of shots with the Yams... With the Onoff's I felt that you could just Hit the ball , almost felt I couldn't miss( I did many times) As for your question, strangely YES these seem to give you more than enough forgiveness ... I can't help but think I should have taken the plunge and got the Tour models!! That said these are lovely... Just as the pitch says, blade looks Cavity forgiveness!!, which I didn't believe until I hit mine! In the light of recent events , just maybe Yamaha will be my new Epon?? I love yamaha irons, the 2012 v forged were very forgiving and performed great, the standard v forged was so awesome, it definitely encouraged me to buy the 2013 tours. I have a brand new set of tours in plastic except the pw. Feel free to pm me if you are interested in them, if I have sellers remorse, I can always convince my buddy to sell his to me. RIduffer
Nice bag Dale more high end Yamaha than Dr Dre's recording studio When I was picking mine up at the PO, the mailman looked at the box and said "Yamaha doesn't make golf clubs" to which I laughed out loud. He proceeded to tell me how he plays Taylor Made and they are the best. Again laughing out loud, indicated that the best clubs are made in Japan even the likes of Taylor, Nike and Callaway use prominent Japanese forging houses for many of their top models, but if you want to play the best... That's the difference between the US and where I am now, France. Out here the postman does not play golf and has never even heard of TM.
