Ok Dale, has yours arrived yet? I've got one range session and a night game yesterday with my son.

I will say that I'm highly impressed with Z9003. Very similar to the P9003 series in terms of dispersion and tight trajectory. As some may remember I went down in flex and weight. I've got the Type 6 in stiff and its ideal. It is a little less in flex than the P9003x for sure but still very similar results along the lines of the P9. This shaft I believe has a little more feel than the P9 and I really believed that the P9 was made just for me; I liked it that much. I still do, but this new Z line provides a few more options, that being lighter weight and lighter flex. Its an absolute wonderful shaft that I would be willing to bet could give any of the high modulus shafts a run for their money. Graphite Design has has a definite winner in this one. The Z9003 gives support all throughout the swing and can take anything you want to give it.

This is shaft I think deserves more looks from those looking for tight dispersion and rope-like trajectory combined with great feel. I can't wait to get more time in with it to fully discover what all it can accomplish. But thing for me, its accomplishing everything I wanted.

If you're a player that liked the P9003 you'll love this shaft as well; maybe even a little more.

If you're a player whose specs didn't fit the specs of the P9003, you now have an viable option to get all the benefits of the P9 but in a shaft that will now fit your specs.

brian, i am consdering this shaft, found the P to be too heavy even in my short driver build. moved down to the 9003s, one of my favorite shafts just found them

too high launch. will the z9003 be lower? i am building a crazy 435 driver in a few months and the BB6s was the main candidate in the GD stable. this one though

has me interested as i loved the 9003s to death

You put this shaft in your Yamaha? Apart from the low launch, what were the other playing characteristics mate?

It's in the V202 9* head

In mine there's the LV2 with a 10* head

I haven't tried the other lines of the 9003, only the P9003x. But the Z line is definitely low launch. Mind I went from the P9003x to the Z9003 type 6 in stiff. The trajectory is on the same lines as the P9003x.

With this current driver (S-Yard) I'm able to work a couple different flights. Played a very tight course yesterday in which I had to shape a few shots. Was pretty much able to do that on command. Hit semi-high fades a on a couple holes, two very low and straight. A couple gentle draws. Overall, this shaft does pretty much everything the P9003x did for me. General, stock flight is a low-mid boring flight. The best thing is, is that's its lighter and the less flex is definitely helping me, but outside of the specs, I'm really getting the same flights I did as before.

Carlo, I think you'll find that this shaft is worth a shot.

For the me, ultra hard, aggressive swinger, Z9003 or P9003X?

What do you recommend?

Looking for lowest possible spin and launch.

MJR D. Howz it?

Well you probably well know how for the past few years I've gone on from time to time about the P9003x. I still game it in my 3 wood and have two drivers with the very same shaft. While I can still hit all well, I do like the S-Yard with the Z9003 shaft in it maybe a little more.

I have never hit the regular 9003 series so I can't comment on that. I also don't have any launch monitor numbers to give you. I can only go on what I've seen between the two. The Z I have is the Type 6 which is a torque of 3.3 and stiff flex. The P9 has a torque of 2.9. While I haven't hit the Type 7 in the Z, it has 2.8 degrees of torque and is in the 70 gram range where the P9 is 80grm. The Type 6 I have is fairly stiff, just a little less so than the P9. If I had to guess the Type 7 might be a little stiffer than the P9 and just might be the one I would reccommend you give a shot.

I honestly believe however that between the two shafts you're just splitting hairs. Either one should achieve low spin numbers. Both produce tight, boring trajectories. I love the Z Type 6 in my current 10.5 degree S-yard. Flight is mid to low and just goes. Part of it is the head but also part is the shaft. Mind you, its stiff and 60 something grams which is lighter that I've hit in a long, long time. Even going down in flex and weight this shaft still produces very good ball flight. I've never ballooned it; not even close. So, that being said if you went with the Type7 in x-stiff, that should fit the bill for you because you're talking about a stiffer shaft than the type6 with less torque. I can't remember from past conversations if you've ever tried the P9. It doesn't get a lot of love here but its a fantastic shaft. The Z series just continues that.

I would wrap this with this summation: The Z series takes all the concepts of the P9 and puts it in a shaft with more options, lighter shafts and a few different flexes. So where only a few could really enjoy and get use out of the P9, the Z now opens up the audience to all the great things the P9 can offer. Make sense? I hope. Good luck to you my friend.

Thanks! Ya I used to have a P9003X in some head, I forget now. It was heavy but wonderful. Straight, piercing, great feel, long.

I'm thinking I may try this or the Crazy Boron or the Crazy Black 50.

Thanks for the feedback man! MUCH appreciated. Good to know!

Crazy Boron is a poor choice for low trajectory, especially for someone with as high a SS as yours...

I'm looking for the lightest, but lowest spin and launch shaft there is.

Torque is a tough thing to determine because you never know what how each company measures it and there are plenty of exaggerations. Obviously I still want something with low torque, though. Strange the new Crazy Tour is such high torque.

If possible I'd also like to stick with high modulus carbon fibre.

That's why this is tough!

Agreed it is a tough choice and expensive to get wrong. Crazy Boron is for a low launcher that needs elevation. Whether that low launcher is because of the head design or the swinger of the club. That does not sound like your issue in any way, shape or form...
