Iomic grips

So I just made the jump to Iomics. I have been playing Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound grips for the past two seasons and have been fairly happy with them. I wanted something to match my Nippon Modus 3 shafts, and have been curious about all the love that Iomics get. Had them done yesterday and I am really impressed so far. Unfortunately, I can only swing them lightly in the house, due to doctor's orders, but they feel great. The tacky feel is just what I have been looking for. I don't know how long that tackiness lasts, but it feels great to start with.

Nice looking set up!!

For me, Iomics rule.

I played the Golf Pride New Decade Multi compound grips for a couple of years and was surprised how

fast they would wear out. Not the Iomics. They wear like iron.

Best part is if they seem to be getting a bit slick all you do is wipe them down with a warm rag and the tackiness

is back, they feel like new again.

I don't wear a glove, ever.

Have tried several others over the last couple of years but am officially done looking now.

I have Iomics on my OnOffs and Nowon on everything else. I personally prefer the Nowon but they wear out so quickly which sucks. The Iomic is a real nice blend between feel and durability imo.

I've been using Iomics for as long as I can remember. They are amazing when new but do lose the tackiness, I find, after a year or so of play, which is just as well since that's about time to change clubs anyway haha!

And may I add that after playing the considerably more expensive Gripmaster over the past months, I've decided that the Iomic 1.8 Sticky cannot be beat...

That is one of my goals, to stop wearing a golf glove. I tried with the New Decades, but it didn't work out so well. These feel less abrasive, and potentially to be free from the need for a golf glove, would be nice.

I didn't get along with the Iomics. Couldn't get consistent sizes. Moved on to Elite from the GripMaster OS wraps which were king by a country mile until they stopped making them...

I love the Nowon No. 1's but they need replacing every few weeks if you hit 'em a lot. Are the Iomic Stickies as tacky? I've tried one or two of them (not the stickies I don't think) and those weren't nearly as tacky as the Nowons.

I can't comment on the Nowon, but I find the Iomic stickies to be very tacky. Coming from Golf Pride New Decades and Tour Velvet's, these are significantly more tacky. If they can stay that way for the whole season I will be thrilled. I only get to play about 25 rounds a year, so that should be realistic.

The Iomic stickiy 2.3s on my OnOffs feel firmer, smoother, less grippy/traction, and don't feel as tacky as the No1 to me. I don't think anything feels like a No1 but again that comes with a cost of low durability. Some people that have used them say they feel too spongy/squirmy for their liking too. I usually wear a chunk out where my right thumb rubs on the grip. If the Nowon was half the price it actually is I would probably always play them going forward because they're, for me, the best grips I have ever used. But I don't think I want to spend $250 a year on replacing grips!

Yeah, that's what I figured. The Nowons are SUPER tacky, guys at my range that clean your clubs after you use them always comment on how great they feel. But you're right; hell, I prolly spend $500 a year replacing those things! The right thumb area wears in no time. Ahhhh, but that feel!!

I tend to like slightly firmer grips rather than spongy, and if I paid that kind of money for a grip and it wore out in 2-3 months, I wouldn't buy them again. Seems that makes the Iomics a better match for me based on what everyone has been saying about the Nowon.

I've tried every grip on the planet, and for me the Iomic works the best when durability, comfort, cost, and feel are all in the equation. I really do like the No1's and to be honest they didn't really wear out SUPER fast, but I just like a grip to be a little stiffer and not "spongy" as MBBG said.

I also like the Iomic x-evolutions and 3gen Lamkin. Tried Iomic sticky 2.3 in past and didn't quite like em.
